The last day of 2023 - some of us are happy about it, some are sad about it and some are indifferent about it. I fall in the indifferent category - 2023 has been a mix of good and bad. I’ve had some years where they were so bad (2021) that the next year couldn’t come fast enough. I’ve had some years that I’ve never wanted it to end. This year the good and bad kept the year pretty balanced - the bads were pretty bad and the goods were awesome.

As we say goodbye to 2023, I’m curious on what you will all be doing today & tonight - let us know….
(multiple choice)

For Me…..My DH and I will be going out to dinner with a friend and then after we go to my neighbors house - something we’ve done for about 14 years). DD20 will be joining us at the neighbors for awhile and then will be with friends. It’s going to be a great day & night with friends & family.

Happy New Year to all of you!
Thank you for participating in slo polls 2023.
No poll tomorrow - it’s my day off from everything (my couch potato day - one day a year I do this). I will be popping in and out, just no poll.
Have a healthy and safe New Year! ❤️🫶

There is a family/friends "gathering" at my mother in-law's house... I don't know if it will be wild enough to call a party. I believe it will be a good time. I am going to have to have a nap today if I am ever going to make it til midnight though.

I was going to cook black-eyed peas with pickled pork tonight, but made red beans and rice yesterday. I don't know what I was thinking.

We're going to watch football all day and tomorrow I may sneak off to the gym.

We normally have a somewhat normal evening. And we normally celebrate New Years Day with a family gathering. This year will be a little different since it seems as if everyone has a cold or flu or something, except us. But a quiet evening is great after a very busy Christmas. :)

Happy New Year.
Slo I enjoy your polls. I look for them first thing in the morning ( sometimes before they are posted)

We had our NY celebration yesterday with our family.
Today is a regular day for us....cleaning upstairs, doing laundry.
Getting ready to book a WDW stay tomorrow morning.
Just DH and me. We may watch a movie later.

We're going to a party with our usual group of good friends. We've come to call the annual get-together "Geezer New Year" because it starts at 6:00 and rarely goes longer than 10:00 pm. We're all big on celebrations and could never not mark the occasion, but by the end of the hectic holiday season and facing a return to demanding jobs on Tuesday, we're all bushed by NYE. :faint:

I usually host and was hoping to do so this year in our new place but endless reno delays have made that impossible. Having no kitchen means I'm not even contributing to the feast, except for a couple of bottles of (non-alcoholic) bubbly for toasting. Wishing you all a very warm and happy evening and all the best for 2024!

Probably be in bed by 8:30 am as my wife has to be at work at 6 am......by choice. She unretired after over 2 years of retirement in a temporary part time job at her old employer. The sooner the project is done, the sooner she can re-retire. 2 months into the project, another 4 months estimated to do.

Thank You for ALL your polls SLO I do look forward to them every morning!!!! I appreciate you doing this for us !!!
I feel the same way.

We are going to the football game this afternoon. We always have Chinese food for dinner which we will eat upon our return and then will watch the NYE shows on tv along with football.

Nothing. 😢

All of our holiday plans were ruined with illness. It’s been a horrible holiday this year. I was lucky enough to avoid getting sick, but it’s been very lonely as I’m staying away from dd and dh so I won’t get sick. Plans to see family were canceled, it just all around stinks.

I’m very much looking forward to 2024.

2023 was a hard one, and this illness was a last kick in the pants by a crummy year. Adios, 2023! I’m glad you’re in the rear view mirror.

Pretty much a regular day. It will be Marie and me, not going anywhere, nobody coming over. We'll pick up dinner somewhere. Most likely not making it to midnight (not that I am really trying to, haha).

Good New Year wishes to all. And again, Sandy, thanks for a great year of your @slo polls. Enjoy your day of rest tomorrow, looking forward to Tuesday's poll.

We usually celebrate with friends or family, but this year are staying in by choice. If the kids want to stay up until 12, I will try to make it. It’s been a busy year and holiday season. I’m looking forward to ringing in the new year feeling well rested, and ready to tackle the busy times ahead.

It’s been a fun, but super busy week of visiting family and friends, so I’m happy to have no plans tonight. We have a ton of leftovers to eat and we’ll probably watch tv.

I hope to go on a nice long walk tonight at some point with my daughter. We do that most nights. :)

We're not sick right now.
But it has been a bad year for us. All 5 adults have some kind of problem pop up.....some multiple things,
Hope the new year leads to most thing resolving

We aren't going anywhere, or having anyone over. It's going to be a quiet late afternoon in the hot tub w/ drinks and a discussion about future travel plans as well as plans for around the farm, followed by using NYE as a excuse to eat junky food for dinner & maybe watching the latest Indiana Jones movie.

We’re going to our friends’ house for a party. I’m looking forward to seeing my friends, but honestly would prefer to stay home. I am never excited about New Year’s or celebrating the holiday. It’s an end to the holiday season and usually my vacation from work which makes me a little sad. Also, NYE makes me think of my Mom and how much I miss her. She always called me right at midnight. I do the same now with my two children.

I do wish all my DIS friends a very Happy New Year!!

Tonight will be appetizers for dinner, champagne to drink, watching whatever New Years shows I can find to stream and in bed by 930. I will toast the New Year at 9pm when the ball drops in Time Square.
