Despite not being a fan of them, I own two of the basic ones. One is in our RV, we have laminate floors and not a lot of storage space so it gets the job done. I've yet to figure out how to keep the darn wet pad on the thing so I use rubber bands around the top and bottom. Doesn't get the floor as clean as a good old fashioned mop, bucket and Mr. Clean but if I go over it twice with new pads, it gets it clean enough.
I have one at home for when I'm just not in the mood to pull out the mop, bucket and Mr. Clean and just want to get the kitchen floor cleanish. We have a tile floor with little dents in the tile so unless I get the rag mop out those dents don't get clean. I call it "half as*&&* mopping". I also use it on the hard woods in the dining room where we have the pads for our dog. She has a habit of not quite getting her entire bottom half into the middle of the pad and pees kind of on the pad and kind of off it sometimes. I clean it up first with a paper towel, then I squirt some water on it and use another paper towel and then I use the swiffer.
