Ahhhh……the everlasting Gobstoppers. A treat from our childhood and for many of us, still today. Some people call them jawbreakers because of how hard they are. So give us your colorful answer today……

What’s your opinion of Gobstoppers?
If you like them…..when was the last time you had one?
Do you call them Gobstoppers or Jawbreakers?
(m.c.)

For Me……I really like Gobstoppers - I always have. I haven’t had one in quite awhile - maybe about 5 years ago. I enjoy them at work to have when I’m sitting at my desk. I kinda forgot about them and now I’m putting them on my grocery list to buy this week. One box will last me for months :thumbsup2

Loved them as a kid - did way too much damage to my teeth between those and taffy ( another love ) I don’t eat them anymore but miss them - jawbreakers is what we call them ❤️❤️ I would have one but I know I would not stop with one 🤣🤣

They're fine, but not my preferred candy. I consider them different from "Jawbreakers" as they are smaller. They are the same basic candy though.

I had jawbreskers as a kid. But not little ones in a box like shown, like Good & Plenty's. Just large, single ones from a penny gumball machine. One filled your whole cheek in your mouth. Have not had one for many, many years, at least 60 for sure.

I like them. They were a favorite as a kid and I’ll still get them from time to time.

Jawbreakers and Gobstoppers are different (and Govstoppers are easier to find these days.) They are similar, but jaw breakers are each a ingle flavor. Gobstoppers have multiple layers of candy shell, each with a different color/flavor.

I like them! (And have called them by both names. - I consider Gobstoppers to be a brand of jawbreakers, like Kleenex is a brand of tissues.)

I think the last time I had the small ones was from a "retro" candy assortment DS got me a year or two ago.

I also remember reeeeally big ones (like couldn't fit the whole thing in your mouth big) when I was a kid. We got them from a particular gift shop we always stopped at on vacation, and they also had multiple colored layers.

There were lots of candy machines in many of the stores we visited when I was growing up and one of the favorites was the giant jaw breakers. I haven't had one in years, but had several as a kid growing up. Fond memories.

It was jawbreakers for me, the big ones. Never really liked them much, I wouldn't have one again.

I never had one, but always wondered what's a Gob and how does this candy stop them? :)

A gob is a mouth, common in British parlance. I take it the name is similar to teh candy that will "break your jaw" in that these will "stop your gob." It's just kind of a joke name I suppose.

I've never heard of a jawbreaker type candy actually breaking someones jaw, but I think they can definitely break a tooth!

I've always referred to them as jawbreakers. They're not a good mix with me. I'm the kind of person that gets a lollipop and after a few minutes, needs to bite in and chew it.

Yup, back in the late 50s and early 60s all we had were jawbreakers, the individually wrapped ones that were pretty big. I loved the cinnamon ones... FIREBALLS!

Everlasting Gobstopper is a brand of candy more commonly known as jaw breakers. Isn't it one of the candies from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?

Had some a few years back - most likely stolen from one of my kids' Halloween bags ;) I'm never going to pass up candy of any sort (well, I'm sure there's a few I would pass on).
