Saturday night, when I was leaving church, I saw 3 things strutting across the street in the distance. So I went to investigate to see if I saw, what I thought I saw. Sure enough, there were 3 large wild turkeys that were now in someone’s back yard. I’ve read that wild turkeys are becoming more and more prevalent in many areas - like geese. Which leads me to ask…..

Do you have wild turkeys by you?
How often do you see them?
Do you get them in your yard?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..Saturday was not the first time I saw them in my area, but it was the first time I saw them in someone’s yard. Normally I see them in a more wooded area. I live next to a forest, and luckily I have not seen them by my house. They are big, ugly and kinda creepy looking so i don’t want them :sad2: I have enough other types of wildlife by us to keep us on our toes - LOL!

These are the wild turkeys I saw Saturday ⬇️. I had to take a picture to show my DH.

We see our turkeys about twice a year-- spring and fall. Will either see two or twenty with about half of that being the little ones. I am puzzled why we don't see them in between.
Rarely a day goes by we don't see at least a handful of deer

I see them everywhere around here (CT) in my yard, on my way to work, in the park…they’re everywhere lol

Why yes I do - to go along with all the other wildlife I have in my yard - we have about four of them I usually see them in the fall my dog is fascinated by them they are usually in my yard in my neighbors yard

We have a lot them where I live here in Massachusetts. They travel in packs and basically come through “squawking “ at each other like they are bickering.😀

We most definitely do not have wild turkeys in central Scotland - but we did see several running around at the bus stop at Disney's Saratoga Springs when we were there in October. It looked like they were having a game of chase and was very entertaining! They are not the best looking birds!

Yes, we have many (counted at least 12) down in the field across from us.

I don't see any here, but if you have them by you, Sandy, they can't be too far away.

Rumor has been there are 3 wild turkeys that make their home in Cape May City. I have seen them but not frequently.

They are in some neighborhoods in the area, where there are more trees, but none in my immediate vicinity. I have seen them when driving around.

In my neighborhood, I see them a couple of times a year. They really like the parking lot of a nearby condominium for some reason.

I saw about a dozen of them just down the street from my house on Saturday. They've very common around me, though I hear them more often than I see them.

They are in our area (city) but I haven't seen any in my neighborhood. They frequent my in-laws' house though and their area is where I've seen them mostly. My FIL has a motion-detector security camera by his back garage. It has "gone off" several times but it's usually a flock of turkeys rather than a real intruder. They've also "looked in the basement windows" on them when they're in their basement rec-room. Last Thanksgiving, they were parading around the side yard. (We thought they were getting a little bold, being out on Thanksgiving Day. :rolleyes1)

Not sure if we’ve had any in our yard, but definitely in our neighborhood and surrounding areas.

My neighborhood is a zoo of sorts. The turkeys walk through in a huge group. Once we had foxes shadowing them and I thought the kids would see carnage. I think there were just too many turkeys for the 2 foxes.

The main thing now is the black bear wandering in our yards. The bear sightings have been intense over the summer. Now, in our front and back lawns.

Nothing like that in these parts; I’d imagine the climate is too harsh for them. In the rural farm community where I grew up, there was a time when it was kind of a thing for people to have exotic livestock as a hobby and peacocks or emus were popular. Both could jump fences and would occasionally be seen wandering the countryside.

Yep. Just last month there was a mother turkey followed by 6 or 7 little ones trotting in a line behind her. Kind of like the Partridge Family only with turkeys! I see them sporadically. Thankfully no geese in my area as I understand in some of the city parks their droppings are making an absolute mess.
