I do not eat pork products. I have been to a luau but that is it never been to or hosted a pig roast.

Way back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I was in a fraternity that did a pig roast every spring before finals. The pig was tasty and a good time was had by all.

Didn't answer because there is not a 'never been' option but I have never been to nor, obviously, hosted one.
Oh no….,you’re so right
Thank you for pointing this out.
I’m sorry to all those that have never been to one. Please choose ‘other”.

Have been, it was unexpected, not a thing I can say I loved although our hosts were very generous to invite us.

Every 4th of July my good friend hosts a pig roast at his house. He’s been doing it for 40+ years. We always go and we always eat the pork because it’s delicious. It does make eating pork roast or pork chops cooked at home less inviting.

I guess I forgot about luaus as others have mentioned - so, I supposed I've been to a pig roast of sorts.

I have been to two. One, luau in Hawaii. Second, a friend had one quite a few years ago over Memorial Day weekend. Enjoyed both, but I love pork.

I've been to several pig roasts and I had a great time; the pork is so good! The research group to which DH belonged when he was earning his PhD did a lamb roast every year; now that was AWESOME and DELICIOUS!

I have genuine question. I only been to USA once to seeing my family in Miami. I see many of these pork pig cooking restaurants in florida. But, why do they all have smiling pig on front? if I was going to be turned on a stick over fire, i wouln't be happy about it! Is this something you have ever noticed?

I went to two in the past (same family did annually).
I was creeped out eating the meat when I could see the body, head & face.
I would never do one, and likely at this point never go to one again.

I have never been to one or known anyone who has been to one. I do like to eat pork though, like chops and tenderloins, so if I had the opportunity I might try it.

Only time was at a traditional luau in Hawaii, many years ago. From what I remember, I don’t think we ever saw the whole pig. It was roasted in a pit covered in hot rocks/coals and palm leaves, we walked past it on our way to our table, and it was served to us later after a stage show.

Definitely not common around here; I don’t know anyone who’s ever hosted one.

Never heard of a pig roast before.
Our friends dig a huge hole ... coals etc ... put a WHOLE PIG in the hole, cover with more of whatever ... pig cooks 24 hours with a guard all 24 hours. They uncover it and they pick the body to eat .... meat was good but the event isn't for everyone, at least not me.

I have been to a luau once or twice in Hawaii, which would be the only time I have been to a pig roast. I don't think I ate the pork.

Um. In my opinion…..yuck. Never been to one, don’t want to. My cousin rescues pigs so……
