My local mall has my favorite place for pizza so I still stop in from time to time for a few slices. I almost always do a lap or two after I eat for old time’s sake and to reminisce.
This time of year as retired seniors we do go mall walking a couple of times a month, especially this time of year when it is hot. One mall is almost completely vacant, other than JCPenney, a barber shop, and several jewelry stores. They keep it pretty warm in their though. There are also a couple of stores that either just have very limited hours, or the owners just walked away from. Full of merchandise but never open when we are there in the afternoon weekdays. The other mall is pretty much completely full. The funny thing is, almost all the shoe stores are gone. I just don't understand can buy shoes online without having to do multiple returns.
We used to have a mall about fifteen minutes away, and we were there all the time, evenings, weekends, whatever. Now the nearest mall is over an hour away. It’s a beautiful mall, mostly still full of stores, including anchor stores, but when you have to spend 2 1/2 hours round trip driving to get there, it’s just not somewhere I go regularly. I maybe go twice a year at most. We have one of those big, open air things they try to call a mall that is about twenty minutes away, but no one in Florida is going to an outdoor mall to get their walking in.
And those were 2 very nice, fun DIS meets, Kitty. Back then, so many years ago, I, and many times Marie back then also, went to so many meets. Many were in mall food courts, a few in mall restaurants and some at a mall movie theater for a Disney movie and then mall eats afterward. Met you, Kitty and family, and so many other DIS folks back then. I really miss those days. Great memories.

Malls are absolutely on their final breath in So Cal. We went to one in Beaverton Oregon though and OMG! It was like Christmas from about 30 years ago. It was absolutely packed and it was just a random Saturday in April.
I used to love going to malls. Heck, it seemed like at the time going to the Mall of America was a major life experience for me
Nowadays, I really do NOT like going to malls. I cannot even think of the last time I went. It seems like anymore they feel kinda sad and outdated, and I do not appreciate the people chasing me down wanting me to buy (or offering samples) of whatever they are peddling in the middle of the walking area.
When we lived in the Pittsburgh area I would sometimes walk in malls for exercise with friends in bad weather. We would go in the morning before the stores opened. Since we moved 4 years ago I just walk around my area outside. I was never a fan of shopping in malls, don't really like shopping in general, and never go to a mall these days.
