Do you remember how excited we’d all get when Disney released movies on VHS? They made a really big production of it by offering preorders, and if you preordered you would get special commemorative prints. It was so exciting! I loved participating with the preorder offers and still have all the prints. Such a fun time! So let’s talk about Disney VHS movies today…..

How many Disney VHS movies do you still have today?
Do you still have a VHS player to play them on?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I don’t have many - just 4. At one time I had a full library, but as I replaced them with DVD, I put the VHS aside and sold them at a few garage sales. The ones I have are Snow White (my favorite princess), The Lion King (at one time my favorite animated movie) and Toy Story & Toy Story 2 (DD26s favorite movies when she was a child). I do still have a VHS player, but I don’t play those movies on them.

The last time we used the VCR was for The Little Mermaid. We don't use the VCR anymore, but I still have some tapes. :)

We have MANY as my mom bought everyone that came out years ago, but I don't believe we have a VHS player for them. I'm sure at some point we will just bring them to Good Will or something.

We had quite an impressive collection when I was a child, but none now / no VHS player.

We HAD a VCR and perhaps half a dozen Disney tapes, but got rid of them about 15 years ago. The VCR broke and I donated the tapes to an organization that still accepted them.

I have a TON I have every single one I’ve ever bought and I rarely ever watch them anymore and I think I have two VCR’s and do they work I’m sure they do but I don’t use them so I don’t know 🤣🤣 I keep
Saying I should get rid of these things but no one wants them anymore they take up a lot of space
I have every single poster or print that was given away every time you pre-ordered one of these movies from the Disney store I’m not about to get rid of those !
I’ve replaced a few of the ones I like a lot with DVR do I watch them - no do I have a player? I think I have one maybe two do they work? I’m sure they do but I don’t know because I don’t use them
Because I wanna watch a movie I go to the streaming and then spend a half an hour trying to find the movie get frustrated and then watch something else🤣🤣🤣 knowing I have the movie upstairs I could just go get it pop it in and watch it but deep down I got a sink and feeling that my TV is gonna be like can’t find device and it’s not gonna work so I just don’t bother🤣🤣🤣 my tv is a smart TV more like smart Alec like that difficult child smart always being a problem !!! I had to call its parent ( the people who made it ) a couple weeks ago just to watch streaming!! We have a love-hate relationship🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️

No more VCR or tapes. I do remember thinking how neat the clamshell cases to taprs were with their colorful illustrations.

Never bought any on VHS. DVDs and Blue Ray's were available so I have some on that format and many more in digital form stored online.

None and no player. Got rid of them years ago.
All Disney was replaced with DVDs

I didn't count, but it's a HUGE storage box, so I said 16+. DD grew up in the "heyday" of VHS and I think we have pretty much every single one of the tapes Disney produced. We also still have a VCR for both tapes and CDs, although it's in storage. I guess if we hooked it up it would still work; no idea if we'll actually do that, ever, though, thanks to streaming. Kinda sad, in a way. DD's entire childhood is in that box, and it'll kill me if it all has to go to the dump. 😭

We have a player in a closet somewhere but only one tape still around. It's part of a box set for Beauty and the Beast I gave to my wife for Christmas back when we were dating.

We had MANY back in the day but got rid of them all, along with the last VCR, at least 10 years ago. We’ve moved 3 times since 2010 and each time has been a downsize. Things just had to go.

I don't have any at my house, but I think my parents still have some from the 90's (movies like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, etc.). I need to check the next time I'm at their house to see exactly which ones they have.

I voted 4-6 only because I am too lazy to get up and count what we have. Yes, I have two VHS VCRs. One I bought new one in 2015 is a combo VHS VCR/DVD Player/burner to begin digitizing all our home videos to DVD, and from there to a dedicated drive.
I was never a fan of buying pre-recorded movies on VHS, especially when Disney at first was charging $125 each. But I have accumulated them over the years, and have several media screening copies that I used to get at work.
My wife is a Professional Videotape Archivist and VHS equipment is still out there, but all of it appears to be "new old stock". Her station used a Professional format called MII made by Panasonic that used tapes that look like VHS tapes, but they record differently on the tape, so they can't be played but she just bought some VHS decks to use to rewind their MII tapes to save wear and tear on the heads on their professional machines. They are nursing those professional machines along as it costs over $10,000 to refurbish one.

You know.... I don't know how many or where they are. :confused3 Basement? Garage? It's been years since I saw them.

Thanks, Slo! I'll be staring at the boxes on the shelves today, wondering....

He had/have a big assortment of Disney and other VHS tapes. I bought a combo VHS/DVD player years ago but we moved a couple of times and it's not really hooked up.
