I like watching them but rarely go. My parents used to live right across the road from the local fairgrounds and we could see them from the front yard. We only went to their house one time to see them because it was such a pain in the butt getting out of their driveway and home. It took us over an hour where normally we’d be home in about 15 minutes. Just wasn’t worth it.

Not a huge fireworks fan. They're nice when they're well done, but the traffic, the crowds, standing around waiting...not for me. Of course the WDW pyro shows are spectacular, but we're usually trying to get to bed early to RD the following morning.

I love them. We just enjoyed the Canada Day fireworks here in our city by driving to a great viewing location and watching with about 2,000 of our closest friends. It was a mob scene getting in and out, but I'm still very glad we went. Our city also hosts a huge week-long international fireworks competition each year and we've attended it many times. Fireworks in our part of the world are complicated by the fact that in summer, it doesn't get dark enough for them until very late. Saturday's show didn't start until 11:30 pm.

I like them, local and especially Disney's.

Mil's small town puts on a nice show every year. Saw it Saturday.

Family will do a small show tomorrow night- in the country.

Love them! So much so that for the past 5 years my wife and I have volunteered on our towns fireworks committee. We raise money and book all the vendors needed for our event. Ours was this past Saturday night and was awesome! Great show and turnout for a small town.
Funny thing is we usually skip the ones in Disney when we're there, just too crowded. Same for the one in Boston at the Esplanade. Was there once, just too many people.

I love them! Sadly they were cancelled for Canada Day, due to already poor quality of air. We have the international firework competition at La Ronde, so far the first couple have been cancelled for the same reasons. Hoping they can go on with the show.

Story about neighborhood fire works..... Some years ago, while we were at bible study a neighborhood teen shot off a few fireworks. Landed in our yard. On our very dry grass yard. Started burning. Little kid next door says to mom, There's smoke in Mr . X yard. That's ok honey, they are probably having a cookout. But mom it's a lot of smoke. We come home from bible study just as fire department is ready to leave. We now had a perfectly round circle to set up a 24 ft pool in our yard. No damage to house.

I enjoy a good fireworks show. The last one I saw was in Epcot last year for the 4th of July. It was SPECTACULAR!! One of the best fireworks show I have ever been to.

This year, dh and I are in WDW for 2 days this week, maybe we will catch one maybe not. But it won't be on the 4th as we are not there tomorrow. And Cincinnati's big firework show is over Labor Day weekend. So no pro fireworks for us this 4th of July.

I like them. But I don't like the trend here in the U.S. that past two years that the community fireworks shows are on whatever Saturday is closest to July 4th, NOT on July 4th. So our community show was last Saturday. Mind you, I live 2 blocks away and after years of NOT having July 4th off, and having to be in bed by 7 pm to be up at 2 am to be at work at 3 am and having to try and sleep through the show, only after I retire to they move the show to Saturday.

I'm petrified of fireworks and avoid them whenever possible. I can appreciate them from a distance, but if I get too close I have bad anxiety. I did see the MK fireworks from a safe place last September.

I enjoy fireworks, but not huge crowds, so will not be venturing into DC to see them. My city has a party and fireworks display on July 8, I will go to that.

I don't like fireworks shows, live or on tv. Not even Disney ones - sorry everybody! :flower3:

I do like fireworks. We've been to two this year. One was last weekend. Our town does theirs the last week of June as part of the Founders Day Festival, rather than on 4th of July. Then, Saturday night, a (very nice) subdivision in our area had their own fireworks display. (It was professional, not just some dads lighting fireworks.) We aren't in the subdivision, but we watched from a bank parking lot.

Tonight is our city's big fireworks display (our town is a suburb of the city). It's a big one that's synchronized to music, televised, etc. I had a very bad experience down there as a teen myself, so I've haven't been back for 30+ years (so my kids have never been). My 19yo daughter said she'd like to go sometime, but she works till 7:30 today and it might rain, so I don't think this is the year.

Several other suburbs are doing their shows tomorrow night. Jury is still out about whether we'll go to one of those.

I think they are OK. The hubs isn't too into them, though, so we hardly have ever sat for a fireworks show. We do Disney a lot too and he just won't do it that often. I don't like standing around with a crowd of strangers so I have been okay with missing out. We tend to watch them while on the move or waiting for or on transportation. We will not be seeing a July 4th fireworks show this year nor did we see one last year. Likely just going to dinner with our adult DDs and then hanging out on the sofa.

Used to be FREE for me. :teeth:

Several years ago, the NYC Macy's fireworks used to be on floating barges on the Hudson River off the west side of Manhattan. Back then, I used to be able to see the fireworks show outside my apartment window. I'd have the TV on with the fireworks show on, so I could hear the music that played with the fireworks display. This is one of my photos:

Sadly (for me) the fireworks display moved over to the east side, on the East River between Manhattan and Queens. Too many skyscrapers are in my way now to see any fireworks.

On New Year's Eve, I do get an excellent shot of the fireworks shooting up the building at 1 Times Square where the ball drops. (They were low this year, They usually shoot over the buildings, not in between.) I have a video with the countdown heard in the background that a friend in Australia wanted me to film, but the DIS won't let me post the video. Still photo from the video:

From Scotland - so no 4th July fireworks for us. But, I think there should only be organised public firework displays and they shouldn't be sold privately. Too many numpties around - we get them for around two weeks before and after bonfire night here and also around New Year. Too much and it upsets everyone's pets not to mention all the stupid accidents people have.

I don’t go out of my way to see fireworks. The shows they do on the Disney cruise line are sufficient for me and not too long. Although, we don’t always go to those. Lived behind the Magic Kingdom for a couple of years, so we got to see fireworks every night, and sometimes twice, if we wanted to. However, I LOVED Illuminations, although that wasn’t really a fireworks show.
