I gotta tell you…..if you like Lilo & Stitch the animated movie, you have to watch the live action movie. My DH, DD21 and I went to see this on Saturday and we loved it, absolutely loved it. We laughed, we cried, we had all the feels as we watched this movie. I give it two very enthusiastic 👍🏻👍🏻. So let’s take 626 seconds out of our day to discuss :stitch2:. Give us your Stitchy answer today……

Have you seen the new Lilo & Stitch movie?
If yes……what’s your opinion of it?
If no……..do you want to see it?
(multiple choice)

For Me……..As I mentioned above, we just saw it a few days ago. I went into the theater expecting to like it and I left loving it - it was better than I expected. We’ve been lovers of Lilo & Stitch since the animated movie in 2002. The two are happily displayed in my dining room….

I have several Big Figs at home and I told DD21 that she can sell some of them when I expire one day, but these two can never be sold. Luckily, since she loves Disney as much as I do, I know these two will never be separated and always be with her :goodvibes

What about, "I have no desire to see it - I LOVE the animated movie"? Really, I'd just rather watch the original.

I guess MAYBE I'll watch it on D+.
Definitely watch it on Disney+
I think you will be pleasantly surprised. And, the little girl that plays Lilo was amazing. I am in awe of young actors and actresses that can carry a movie. Even if I don’t love the movie subject, I still love watching them.

I love the Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride song from the original!

I would kind of like to go to the movie, but will probably wait for D+ because we're busy with other stuff right now.

I've never seen any Lilo & Stitch movie. I don't know why Stitch is so loved, but my granddaughter likes him. :)

I don't plan to see the new movie.

I’ll watch it when it comes out on Disney+ I absolutely love Stich and I love the movie and I have the soundtrack so I will definitely be watching it when it comes out he’s one of my favorite characters

What on earth has happened to Disney? Ads for this show have been running pretty heavy for the past week and although I don’t really keep up with these things, it’s kind of shocking to see that their “summer blockbuster” is yet another remake. When was the last time they did something original? Are there really no new stories left to tell? :sad2:

I thought the original was fine. Not my favorite or least favorite Disney movie, somewhere in the middle. I don’t have any plans to see the new one, I want an original idea I’m tired of remakes, sequels and prequels. We canceled D+ a year ago.

We went to see it last Thursday (DH and my mother). Mom hadn't seen the original, which was actually a huge part of our kids' growing up -- both were huge Stitch fans.

I did like it. I wouldn't say love it. They kept it pretty true to the original but made some changes -- DH and DM both loved it.

My husband's cousins are pretty involved in the movie/film industry. They have a LOT of trouble bringing a new idea to market because the investors don't want to take the risk. Which is why the remakes and sequels of stuff that initially worked.

Nope, have 0 desire to watch it. This one bothers me more than the others as Lilo and Stitch is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time and some of the changes I've heard about are honestly insane. It's like they didn't understand what made the original so great. I called this one creatively bankrupt when it was announced and looks like I was right.

Well, guess Disney will be pumping out more of these as this is making a lot of money and if they do, I'm going to be mentally checked out of Disney movies for a while.

I have not seen it and probably won't. I'm one of those that is absolutely sick and tired of Disney turning successful animation IP into live action movies vs. sparking a new renaissance and coming up with more fabulous original content. I love the original movie and just have zero desire to see this.

I chose other.
I have not seen it.
I will not see it.
I LOVE the animated version.

I'm sick of Disney creating live action versions of animated classics.
And I don't like the changes they made.

Blame moviegoing audiences, not Disney. Original fare has not been as successful of late at the box office - nobody will go see them! Remakes and sequels get the business. Sure, some of them may not hit, but when they do, they hit BIG. Lilo & Stitch is already over $600M worldwide! That's why.

There are certainly new stories left to tell - it's just that nobody wants to hear them.

I wouldn't mind seeing it, but it's unlikely I'll go to the theaters for it and I don't have Disney+, so it might be a while until I catch it.

I’m hoping to go see it Thursday night, it’s only $3 to see it at a nearby older theater.

I planned to go see it last weekend but am having car troubles and don’t want to drive the hour to the good theater. I will probably wait for it to be released on DVD and borrow it from the library.

I'm in the minority that enjoys some of the live action remakes - I think it's fun to see a cartoon come to life.

I know many don't like them, and don't understand why Disney makes them, but I'm going to speak for those people that I know that don't like watching cartoons, like my mother. She enjoys the live action movies, because she's not a lover of watching animated movies. My DH is also someone that doesn't have a lot of interest in watching animated movies - he used to when my girls were younger, but he has no interest now. He hasn't seen Moana, Frozen and other movies, but he would if they were made into live action.

I think each type of movie is great for those that enjoy it.
