This is the time of year to enjoy Christmas movies, and one subject of 3 of these movies is The Grinch. There’s a lot of Grinch fans out there, and I’m very curious to know how they feel about the 3 Grinch movies. Many of The Grinch fans I know are very loyal to only loving or liking the original 1966 animated special. Then there’s many that loves or likes anything and everything that’s about The Grinch. Before we get into it, let’s get some information on this topic…..

For Me…….I’m not gonna lie, I’m not a Grinch fan. I’ve tried to be, but I just can’t do it. I have seen the original 1966 movie several times as a kid, I’ve seen the 2000 movie a few times and I’ve never seen the 2018 animated movie. I never liked the 1966 movie, I like the 2000 movie only because I think Jim Carey did a great job and I enjoyed the creativity that went into the movie and I have no opinion of the 2018 movie (my DD22 likes it though and she told me to watch it, which I probably will, because she’s not a Grinch fan either, so for her to like it, it must be good).

I watched the 1st Grinch many times when it first came out; the second one with Jim Carrey, ironically I just watched last night and the third Grinch movie I've never seen.

I like the Jim Carrey one the best. It's a cute movie.

I've watched all 3, the 2000 one the most because the kids watched that one and that is the one that is always chosen when anyone picks.
I am okay with all, but also not a Grinch fan.

My favorite is the 2018 one. I love what they did with the backstory on the Grinch and it’s really funny too. The Jim Carrey one is ok. And the original is a classic

LOVE 2000 one, and going to theaters to see it Wednesday.

I have seen all three. My ranking, from best to worst:

Grinch 2018 (love this movie)
Grinch 1966 (full version, not the one cut to add more commercials)
Grinch 2000 (not a Jim Carrey fan and did not like this movie)

The original is a staple and it's usually one of the first things to come on TV each year. I will watch it any time it's on...well, at least if it does not conflict with higher ranking faves on my list. I do not like the 2000 movie at all. I've seen it but have no desire to see it again and will scroll right by it if it's on. I recently got a chance to see the 2018 one and it's very sweet. I liked it quite a bit and would watch again.

I've not seen any of the Grinch movies and don't really see what all the fuss is about. They've never appealed to me and didn't even watch them as a child.

I’ve seen the 1966 movie too many times to count. The other 2 versions, I’ve seen a few times. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge Grinch, but think all of the movies are entertaining!

I'm just curious, because I'm not much of a Dr. Seuss fan.
I respect the creativity of his work, but it's never been for me.

Look at all the Grinches here! I, too, am not a fan. I didn't grow up watching holiday movies (Mr Magoo's Christmas Carol was the only one around when I was a kid) so I don't have any emotional attachment to the Grinch. I don't care for the original cartoon one, and I am not a Jim Carrey fan, so that was a one-and-done for me.

The Little Guy was here this weekend and wanted to watch the 2018 Grinch for our movie night. UGH, I thought, but sure, let's watch it, we watch whatevre he wants. Imagine my surprise when I actually enjoyed the 2018 version! If you aren't a grinch fan or would be willing to watch just one to see if you are missing anything (FOMO and all that), I strongly suggest watching the 2018 animated version. I liked it enough to be willing to watch it again!

I am not. I think the characters are grotesque, that put me off any story or rhyming dialogue.

I have only seen the original animated one and have always enjoyed it. I’ll have to try the others too. When in elementary school I frequently borrowed the Dr Seuss books to read at home.
