slo’s MONDAY 12/12 poll - Christmas Sweaters or Sweatshirts (Fun or Ugly)

I have about 4 of them.. I think they are fun and festive.

I don't own any. Our boys each own at least one ugly Christmas sweater. Their HS always does a two-week event they call 'Christmas for Others' (CFO) and the highlight of the event is the Ugly Christmas Sweater day when they also do an assembly called 'Coin Wars' (class vs. class). This year, in 20 minutes, they raised over $8,500 for local charities.

I thought the non-Christmas sweater people like myself would be in the minority in this place, but lo and behold we are the majority. I'm furiously recalculating my blackboard equations, factoring in fannypacks, matching shirts, and Crocs trying to come up with how this happened.

I voted 1-2 but technically neither is a sweater. I have a Mickey Santa sweatshirt and a thermal shirt with Santa Penguins. I’ll wear the Mickey Santa to work the Friday before Christmas and for Christmas Day

I have TONS of Christmas shirts/leggings/dresses. I start wearing them the day after Thanksgiving and wear something Holiday every day until Christmas.

I voted other, because I don't have "Christmas sweaters" exactly, but I do have 2 T-shirts, 2 long-sleeve lightweight shirts, and a sweatshirt (plus a plain green loosely crocheted sweater that looks really Christmassy if I wear a red turtleneck under it.) Lots of Christmas socks, too!

I love dressing in Christmas theme during the holiday season and have already started.

I have more than 25 holiday sweaters and shirts. I am a high school teacher and my thing for the month after Thanksgiving Break until Christmas break is to wear a different holiday shirt. Some are ugly sweaters others are just fun but I call it the 25 days of Christmas shirts. I actually have some students keep track to make sure that I don't repeat any. It's fun and I bought all of them on clearance or thrifted them. We have 2 more weeks until break and I have the final 10 planned out.

Such a cute sweater, @slo - I love it!

I have two. One is truly ugly. White background with broad stripes of Santa's face, says HO HO HO repeatedly in green, Santa and border stripes are red and turquoise (that OH SO traditional Christmas color!) with white garland on some of the stripes. It is truly tacky and has won "best of show" at two different parties!

The other one, I really like. It's black, almost a chenille knit, with a stack of 6 Christmas gifts with bows- but these are all done in sequins. They are quite pretty and festive, and I don't feel like my eyes hurt when looking at it (unlike the other one)!

I only have 2 sweaters, but if you want to talk holiday SOCKS... I bet I have three dozen pairs. My favorite are the black ones with the Nutcrackers. I have only ever worn these to go see DD dance in Nut, but with 8-10 shows a season, for ten (?) years... I've worn these socks a LOT. I can't bring myself to wear them anymore. They are getting threadbare, but are full of wonderful, warm memories of DD and her dance-family. How could I wear them anyplace else than to see her dance in Nut?

I had a silly light up one with a ridiculous looking llama on it but I cannot find it anywhere...my son has a cool one with a dinosaur DJ on it...so I will say we own 1.5(if I could ever find the other one LOL)

Yes, one is a sweater vest. I used to wear it all the time when I taught.

I have 3-4 sweaters, but also have a couple of tee shirts and about 5-7 long-sleeve tee shirts.

Don't get me started on holiday scarves. I like the idea of scarves much more than actually wearing them.

I have a couple of cute sweatshirts and 2 Christmas decorated turtlenecks.

I wear them for any Christmas activities we attend, so I've already worn them a couple of times for group dinners we've been invited to.

I have 1 sweater. Technically you could say it is not solely Christmas (it is fair isle sweater in red) but it is definitely my Christmas sweater so I am counting it.

Haven't worn yet, but within the next week it will make its 2022 debut.
