Question.......what is the absolute worst, and I mean THE WORST earworm you have ever had - EVER!?

For Me......it's the song That Thing You Do from the movie - That Thing You Do.
That song is played so many times throughout the movie that it got stuck in my head for weeks - it was awful. So awful, that I refuse to watch the movie again, which is a shame, because it was a pretty good movie..

I normally lean into earworms, playing them every time I get into the car if they won't go away. Idk if this makes it better or worse.

About a month ago I heard a song on Sirius 70’s on 7 that I hadn’t heard in close to 50 years and it’s been in my mind ever since.

It’s simultaneously amusing and annoying.

Ah, yes!! A "One-hit Wonder" from back in the day.

yes very easily. Usually whatever song I last heard etc. Since I just saw Wicked again and the Golden Globes last night the songs from the movie are cycling through - at the moment is Popular. Dancing through life and Defying Gravity usually switch off at some point.

The one prior was due to a meme going around for Peaches so the Jack Black Super Mario Bros movie Peaches song was stuck - Peaches, peaches, peaches

The worst one for me was from a local helpline commercial, "8-2-9-1-3-4-1, Helpline, whenever you need help you just call..."

Luckily, I haven't heard or thought about it in years. It was as catchy as Kars for Kids.

Worst one I ever had was that damn Kars for Kids commercial song. Lasted for about a month. I don't get them often but I couldn't shake that song!!

What about when you have a structured settlement, but you need cash now? 🤣

EDIT: I actually quoted the wrong post here.

Why, I haven't got the slightest clue what you are talking about ;)
I HATE this incessant commercial. If I am within reach of the remote control or the on/off of the radio, I silence it. It's horrible, has been for waaaay to many years.

I currently have Hornpipe from Handel's Water Music struck in my head. I don't know why. My problem is I hum along. I was in the hallway at church yesterday and a woman asked what I was humming.:rotfl2:It was Water Music.

I get one occasionally, generally don't bother me. My husband is an earworm's favorite target apparently, which can be both very entertaining and sometimes come back to bite. Sometimes my daughters or I will unintentionally set him off by saying just the wrong thing, sometimes the devil on our shoulder just won't let up and we set him up. It's usually pretty hilarious and once it's settled in with him for a couple hours or so it's always ready to be reactivated with the proper bait. The bad part is when you accidentally trigger one when you're stuck in a car with him for a while or in the middle of a project where you can't walk away. The whistling and humming drives you batty after a while. You wind up feeling like you're stuck with Monty Python or the old Hee Haw television show on endless repeat.

I'm a retired middle school teacher band and orchestra teacher. I always got earworms from pieces my students were playing.

Heck, I've been retired for 3 years now, and I still will wake up singing a song that my students performed!

Last Christmas has been my recent earworm. I love the song and I hear it enough during the Christmas season that I find myself constantly humming it. It's back in my head now after thinking about it....

It's a great movie too, BTW....

I had a real problem with this for several years after breast cancer treatment. It was so weird. I did learn that you can nip it in the bud by kind of talking to yourself instead. Apparently the brain can’t talk and do songs at the same time. Thank God it finally went away. I wouldn’t even listen to any music for a long time. I thought maybe it was from the steroids they gave me. Who knows…

Dancing in the Moonlight just left me after several months and currently Listen Like Thieves by INXS is entertaining my brain.

Back in October I was listening to the Halloween station on Pandora and they played The Muppets (Electric Mayhem) version of Dancing in the Moonlight, I believe from the Muppet Haunted Mansion movie. It was stuck in my head for the whole month, and now that you brought it up, there it is again! Been stuck in my head all day! 😵‍💫

😄

I get them a lot..a lot of Disney ones like Its a Small World and the Carousel of Progress.. Its a Great Beautiful Tomorrow...and non Disney...A Girl Just Wants to Have Fun.
