I’ve been wanting to a poll on this topic for awhile, because I’m genuinely curious with how often everyone visits and participates on this board. I also wanted to bring this board to everyone’s attention, because there’s DISers here that may not know it exists. A controversial topic is….


Some people are really good at debating their feelings about a controversial topic and others are not. Personally, I’m not a great spontaneous debater, because information and facts don’t come to me quickly - I’d be terrible on a game show, so don’t ever ask me to partner with you on any game shows unless it’s Wheel of Fortune - LOL! Let’s find out who our debaters of controversial topics are here on The DIS. Tell us today, without debate……..

For Me…….I almost never visit this board - it’s not for me Once in awhile, if I see in the new threads section or the new posts section, that there’s a topic that intrigues me, I may click on it, but that is very rare. Personally, I don’t come on here to debate or to get worked up about a subject. People can say I’m keeping my head in the sand about hot topics, and that’s ok, I’m very content with having my head in the sand

It's my regular hang out around here now. I've made some amazing friends and have learned so, so much from so many people. You gotta be willing to take the bad with the good though, that's for sure.

I was excited for it initially; not sure what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn’t what has actually played out. I do not engage in the US political threads, which is practically all of them now, so my participation is very infrequent.

I have access, I go on there and check out the new threads but it's a bit of a snarky/high school atmosphere and not really for me.

I opted in, because FOMO. But I think the only time I've gone on it has been if someone on Community Board mentions something about it.

I don't even bring up controversial topics to DH -- I won't mess with trying to do it on a semi-public forum.

I used to be on there every day, multiple times per day. Now, I may check a few times a week and may post if something really jumps out at me. For me, it's just become a broken record of the same inflammatory issues with the same root causes. When it comes to regular posters, you know who stands where, just like you know who is going to post in a way to stir the pot. People are too set in their ways and too easily angered (including myself) for any of it to feel productive at this point. The only times, nowadays, that I find it remotely enjoyable is if someone comes up with an interesting topic that has nothing to do with politics, religion, etc. - and those are few and far between.

I go on there but not very often, I'm more of a lurker to see if anything of interest comes up. A lot seems to be US related which I have little to contribute to.

I've never been there and don't want to. All things DIsney = escape from the real world. And I want to keep it that way.

ETA: That's one of my main attractions to WDW. When I'm there I leave the real world behind.
