Shipley is the area favorite if I'm going to splurge and have donuts. It's definitely not an all the time food. They have a huge visual menu of options (which doesn't include their savory offerings like kolaches), but my top 3 in order...

Both sets of my grandparents lived on farms in south Texas and my grandmothers made traditional sweet kolaches all the time. Sooo good…!!!!! 😋
Fortunately, my 85-year-old mother still makes them from time to time…!!! 🙂

I could (I don't) eat donuts multiple times a week. I like chocolate frosted cake donuts, maybe a Krispy Kreme type once in awhile. A kreme filled Bismarck or Long John for variety. And an occasional fritter. Not healthy but sure tasty.

Old fashioned here. Haven't had a donut since the pandemic began. My company used to bring in donuts on pay day. Had to switch to individually wrapped treats during the pandemic, and I retired before they resumed donut day.

My aunt worked for many years as a school bus aide, and there was a bakery on her route (forget what it was called) that made cream donuts that were sliced in half and the cream was piled at least two inches high between the slices. I have a huge appetite for sweets and donuts, but I never could finish one of these monsters on my own. They were the stuff of dreams. I believe they closed down when the pandemic happened and never opened up again.

Mmmmm.. donuts! Any non filled donut is a good donut. I even like the cheap waxy chocolate donuts. But, the older I get the less I get them. The sugar and grease just don’t agree with me any more. ☹️

I don’t eat donuts very often but when I do I prefer a filled donut, like a Boston cream pie or raspberry jam filled.

My favorite is a Boston cream filled from Tim Horton. I also love strawberry or raspberry or lemon filled Bismarck’s, and custard filled chocolate topped long johns❤️. And Krispy Kreme doughnuts too😁

I've had the sweet ones, and I know they are the more traditional type, but I tend to favor the savory. Don't get me wrong, the sweet are super tasty, but ham and cheese or boudin (more of a Louisiana blend) are my favorites. Then again, I won't turn down a sausage and cheese or bacon/egg/cheese either.

I like glazed, fruit, kreme-jelly, a long john, but my donut intake is maybe one or two per year.

I actually, generally, prefer the savory kolaches as well, but they’re a newer thing that wasn’t around when I was younger, and “purists” don’t even consider them authentic kolaches.
I’ve had all the savory versions you mentioned above, plus I also really like brisket and egg, and authentic Mexican chorizo and egg.
Tasty stuff…!!!!! 😋

I worked at a doughnut store for 2 years while in high school. I rarely eat them anymore.

I used to like white cream filled, but it is just Crisco and sugar, so yuk!

I will occasionally eat a glazed, sugar, or chocolate frosted one (raised, not cake)

Boston creme pie, maple frosted (or boston creme pie but with maple frosting), french cruller, jelly filled, raised sugar, apple spice... the list is long. I love donuts and can eat multiples- so I don't buy them very often, my waistline and my reflux can't handle it!
