For some people, this poll may seem a little early, but for others it may seem right on time.

Do you like to decorate for Halloween?
If yes….When do you decorate?
Do you decorate the inside or outside of your house?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I love decorating the inside of my house for Halloween 🎃👻
I just finished decorating this week. I love them so much, that I want to look at them longer than a month.
We don’t decorate the outside - we live at the end of a dead end street and get no trick or treaters, so nobody sees anything we put out. Many houses in my subdivision have some decorations out, and in about a week, this subdivision will be very decorated. 🎃👻

These are not my house ⬇️ I got a great idea from this inside picture. We have a large light up pumpkin we don’t use - it’s sitting in the shed all lonely. I’m going to put it in my fireplace - what a fun idea! And I love the green light. I’m totally doing this!

I don't decorate like I used to but I will put some things up before the grandkids come over. I always enjoyed Halloween when our boys were growing up.

I’ll decorate mid October. Right now I have all my fall decorations out. I prefer the look of the fall items. For Halloween the decorations will be mostly inside. I got rid of a lot of my outdoor decor last year so I need to decide if I’m going to buy more stuff or not.

I have decorations stored in the basement, but I haven’t put them out for a few years. Today’s poll reminds me that I should get them out. 🎃

I don’t decorate like I used to it’s just a little too much for me I have nothing against a holiday it’s just I’m just too old to be dragging all that stuff up and put it out and dragging it all back downstairs but I will put some stuff out I get hundreds of trick-or-treaters so I’d like to put some stuff out I started last weekend slowly getting some things out and I’ll do a little more a little more each weekend until I’m done hope to be done couple weeks
Most people around here have been full-blown decked out for about two weeks now since the kids went back to school they started decorating

I put strings of orange lights outside in early October. I put a few decorations inside the house. But none of it is very elaborate. :)

I chose that I decorated the outside of the house, but really it's just our front window. It's my personal favorite holiday for decor (so many cute things this year!) but I'm not in charge of what holidays get what. We go all out at Christmas only.

I have a few things and some years I get them out and some years I don’t bother. Halloween has never been a “season” to me… it’s a day. I never put out Halloween stuff until October. My son’s birthday is at the end of September so I always wait till after that

I am never home at Halloween, so no decorations. I usually go to WDW that time of years as I will this year. I will get back before the 31st this year, but just in time to go back to work. I work out-of-state, so I still won't be home. I have a doorbell cam and seldom see any kids out trick-or-treating anyway. I think a lot of parents back home go to various parties instead of letting their kids go out.

Just had a blow up on the neighborhood Facebook page about Halloween decorations.

A couple people got letters from the HOA management company that they needed to take down their decorations as they were up too early.

The rules are that decorations can go up 5 weeks before the holiday and remain up 2 weeks after. So for Halloween that means no earlier than September 26th.

One had life sized characters up on their porch dressed like Jason and Michael Myers wielding chainsaws that were put up September 16th. The other had started installing their graveyard. Apparently their mother in law spends the downtime between halloweens designing and making several new tombstones every year so every year it gets bigger and needs more setup time. Last year she made a ship that looked like it was coming up out of the ground complete with five ghostly pirates.

The post on the Facebook page was a juicy one with some taking the HOA side and some going straight to the 10 year old argument that they must be communists. To be fair both sides were acting like 10 year olds in the argument styles. I expect no better from Facebook.

We had not had a good juicy neighborhood Facebook blowup in months.

I don't decorate for Halloween, just for the fall season in general. That stuff usually stays up until the day or weekend after Thanksgiving then I put up some Christmas stuff. I'm not anti Halloween, I just never really got into it. My BIL goes ALL OUT. His entire yard is done up and inside his house, too.

The 'I' response refer to Marie, not me. Marie will decorate inside some, outside a pretty good amount. She will put stuff up and out in another week or so. Nothing extravagant, always looks nice.

We just got the decorations out of storage.
They will go up inside and outside Oct 1.
Nothing extravagant.....too much effort for us as we get older

I’m more of a Fall person. I put out all my glass pumpkins last week. Nothing Halloween gets put up until October. I prefer mid October but my kids are nuts for Halloween and start planning in August so I’m sure they’ll be dragging the totes in on the first. When I told them I wanted to go subtle and just put out my ceramic haunted houses and a couple of ghosts you would have thought I kicked a puppy. I told them they could go all out in the front room so I’m sure it will look like Halloween threw up in there. They’re not little kids btw, they’ll be 18 in a couple of months. 😂

My kids birthday is Nov. 30th so no Christmas decor until it passes. They already have to share their birthday with each other and on the heels of Thanksgiving so I worked hard to keep it separate from Christmas over the years. They however chomp at the bit to put it out right after Thanksgiving so I’ve started letting them.

I do inside only for all holidays. I used to do outside but I just got tired of practically begging my DH to pull out the ladder and put up the lights. Someday when I’m rich I’ll have permanent ones installed.

We didn't do a lot of decorating this year (mostly just fall decor that doubles as Thanksgiving stuff too) because we're going to be out of town for Halloween. Our outside decoration is just a wreath on the door and a wooden pumpkin planter that we put a mum into.
