I tolerate steak when there is nothing else but don’t enjoy it. I don’t like to “fight” with my meat. I like it ground up or slow cooked or smoked so it is falling apart. I don’t want to deal with bone, fat or god forbid gristle. 🤮

I’d rather eat seafood or well trimmed chicken.

I like filet mignon. If we're grilling at home, we usually buy a porterhouse steak and I'll eat the filet side and DH will eat the strip side. I don't care for ribeye... something about the texture of it is off-putting to me.

But I have to say I'm not a huge beef eater. I like the flavor, but a few bites will suffice. I don't need a big steak. I'd rather have the 'fixings' like a loaded baked potato, salad, and bread. Or something else entirely, so I rarely order steak. When I do, I like it medium (but if it's going to be "off," I'd rather it skew to medium-well than medium-rare.)

Don't eat that much beef anymore since other meats tend to be recommended for a healthier diet (i.e. chicken/fish/pork/seafood). When I do have an occasional steak prefer a lean ribeye/porterhouse/T-bone. Not sure what it is about filet, but often seems to taste like liver to me which I don't like. Perhaps something about how cattle are now raised, but just tend to avoid it when eating out. Level of doneness is a matter of personal preference, but don't care for any steak that is cooked to less than medium well. Having the blood ooze out of it just isn't appetizing to me on undercooked steaks.

Usually Top Sirloin. Went out for a steak dinner with my boyfriend(?) last weekend. I got what he suggested, which I believe was a Top Sirloin.

After DH's quad bypass, we rarely eat red meat. With the prices lately, I've kinda glad we gave it up.

Growing up, we ate lots and lots of beef in our diets. I don't eat beef anymore for various reasons so any steak would involve a different type of meat than beef.

I love prime rib, but I don't make it at home. Prime rib roasts best as a larger piece of beef, and it's too much for just two of us. My preference for any steak/beef is bone-in. I love the meat right next to the bone. When we get bone-in strips here at home, I buy 3 for 5 of us; the other 4 share the meat and I get the three bones!

Up until a few months ago, I hadn’t eaten red meat since 2018. However when I was going through chemotherapy one of the things I craved was steak so I did eat it a few times. Whenever my husband buys steaks, it’s always ribeyes.

I love a nice medium rare filet mignon. I cook it in the sous vide, then sear in a cast iron pan. Yum!
I also like top sirloin.
I find ribeye to be too fatty for my liking.

It’s interesting to see how many people enjoy medium rare steaks - my DH is also with this group of folks. Personally, I like my steaks medium.

So I lied. We actually had flat iron steaks in the freezer from ButcherBox, and DH grilled them last night -- I used onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper.

OMG. They were PERFECT. Tender and tasty -- was better than a filet. Highly recommend.

We sous vided some NY strips last night. Aside from the strip of fat which was hard to cut off, they were quite tasty.

Steak is a very rare thing for me (the occasion not the way of cooking), best I can remember it's ribeye is the type we will have.
