My DH and I love the TV show Heartland, which can be found on Netflix and UP Faith & Family (UP only has seasons 17 & 18). The show is about a family that owns and lives on a ranch where the one daughter trains horses. On the show you see people horseback riding all the time. Last night, as we were watching season 17, I told my DH that we should go horseback riding sometime this year. He just laughed and said….No thanks - we’ve done that before and we were sore for days afterwards.

He’s right, we did go horseback riding long long time ago - before we were married, so over 30 years ago. I remember liking it, but also being scared when the horse galloped - I thought I was going to fall off. So, this got me thinking about all of you. Have you gone horseback riding? Let’s gallop into your answer today and find out…..

Have you been horseback riding?
If yes….when was the last time you did this?
(multiple choice)

*BIG BONUS for those that own a horse

*If you are looking for a nice wholesome family friendly show, give Heartland a try. My mom started watching this because she loves horses and when she told me about it - I honestly didn’t think it’d be something we’d like. Then during Covid, we were desperate for some new shows to watch so we decided to give Heartland a try and instantly fell in love with it. The show is so calming and it’s one of those shows that makes you feel like you are watching a real family and not actors on a TV set. We really do love it a lot!

For Me……To repeat what I mentioned above - the last time I went horseback riding was over 30 years ago. One day, I’d like to stay in one of the cabins at Fort Wilderness in WDW and go horseback riding there - I think that would be super fun. On the last day though, so when I’m sore afterwards it won’t matter because we’ll be going home :thumbsup2

If you go horse riding it DISNEY you will not be sore because those horses are barely walking you won’t have to worry about the horse of galloping off and you falling off of it they don’t get going very fast🤣🤣 you will not be sore when you’re done with your little ride I have done it there several times to take my kids when they were little horseback riding I’ve probably done it at least five times
I am a huge huge horse fan such majestic animals I am not supposed to go horseback riding anymore but I did break that rule and go about 10 years ago it was an hour long ride and right at the end of the road my horse got spooked bolted and took off a dead run I had a heck of a time reeling him in 🤪
There’s a place close by me that does horse riding for special need kids I enjoy going down there to pet the horses 🐴

The only time I dealt with horses was at a special needs camp. I enjoyed the kids but I'm not a big horse lover.

I have been but it has been many, many years ago.
I have had neighbors with horses, I rode in a parade one time while visiting relatives.
My DGD goes once in awhile. But mostly she learns to take care of the horses (it is one of the therapies she has)

I've been on a horse a handful of times when I was a kid, it's not for me. Our DDs grew up riding and competing in horse shows, we've owned some horses but not anymore:)

I used to ride a lot as a kid. The last I did a trail ride I was in college. The last time I was on a horse was probably 6-7 years ago (in a ring at a friends farm). My BFF used to be a competitive horse rider in college. Super cool to watch her do the jumps. I was never that good lol.

My sister and dad did the FW horseback riding. It’s pretty tame and neither of them were sore the next day. Mom and I went to Disney Springs (was Downtown Disney at the time I think) and did some shopping instead. I have never ridden a horse myself.

If you like horses and are in the area, the Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington, Kentucky was a fun way to spend a day. My sister was really into horses at the time, and she loved it.

For years & years of my life I rode every day. I have had several horses, I showed a lot as well & was on my school riding team. At one time my mother had over 50 miniature horses which we also bred & showed. We also had a racehorse.

I haven't ridden since a friend's birthday party in middle school. My horse kicked the horse behind us, which was a little scary for me.

Last time I was on a horse was during our trip to Ireland in 2017, one of the stops on our tour offered an optional ride in the country/along a beach. To my great surprise, DS, who was 25 at the time and had never been on a horse, wanted to do it. So he and I took the ride. I rode occasionally as a teen, at summer camp and at a local park stable, but not regularly.

One of my cousins had her birthday party at a riding stable when she was about 10 and I was 8. This was circa 1966. That was the last time I was on a horse. Stable workers walked the horses around while kids rode them.

A man used to bring a pony to our neighborhood in Baltimore and moms could pay to have their kids’ photos taken on top of the pony. The guy supplied a cowboy hat, chaps, and bandana for the kids to wear. It probably cost no more than a dollar.

Not a photo of me.

I'm not sure if I've ever ridden a horse. I used to be afraid of them when I was a kid because of how big they were, not sure why as I adore them now. I'd like to try horseriding however I am slightly wary of them still - know too many people who have fallen quite badly!

My cousins owned horses and we used to horseback ride when we visited, so a few times a year. The last time I went horseback riding was in 2002 at WDW. I took my then 9yo daughter. She loved it and was a natural. I doubt I will ever get on a horse again. I don’t think I’m physically able to anymore.
