We own a motorhome. We do not camp. We use ours as a mobile resort. We get as close as possible to our destination and operate as any other resort, it's our base of operations. There's also something to be said for having your own house with you.
My requirements are water, sewer, and electric. The site must be level, preferably paved. The place we stay at needs to have amenities like a pool and laundry.
So no, you really can't call what we do camping, and it was never intended to be.

Just a couple examples.
That's a serious rig!

Our family camps year round. In fact, I’m currently at Scout Camp (BSA) as I type!

I tent and hammock camp with the scouts. If camping with just our family we’ll break out the pop-up trailer or larger travel trailer. I backpack too. Summer in the south is not always ideal for camping IMO due to heat and bugs.

I've been camping (tent, a few times) but it's been a while.

I would probably enjoy glamping or cabin camping if I got the chance to go again.

I have to admit, as crazy as hotel rates are now, I might consider camping, but it isn't something I currently do.

I *might* camp if I had a nice RV with all the amenities. If we're talking tents and having to poop in a hole in the ground while looking out for bears, then no.

We do go camping and will be going next month for two weeks along the gorgeous coast of Maine. We have been going to the same campground since I was a baby…am now 58. We stay in a tent but have upgraded things a bit over the years.

We now have a portable charger that we use to bring a Keurig for my morning coffee. We also used super sized cots with three inch memory foam mattresses so we are not on the ground at all and super comfy for sleeping. We have an extra large screen tent for dining and hanging out with zip down sides for rain. So while some may consider it roughing it, we have learned to make it comfortable and much easier than it used to be. We spend our days at the beach, hiking, catching clams, exploring, dining out, playing games and sitting around the campfire at night. We really do love it!

That being said, I also love a nice five star resort too! This, however, is good for the soul. If you know, you know.

Rarely, but I have car camped. I have also rented a camper and have stayed in a yurt.

I am a city kid. I camped as a kid with aunt/uncle and scouts, once with family in rented pop up. As an older teen was gifted a pop up camper (3 queen beds) that we outfitted. DH had a boat so this way we could spend lots of weekends at the lake. At 25 tent camped around Nova Scotia for 3 weeks with a toddler. That was the end. Have not camped in 37 years. For me camping is Holiday Inn. City kid through and through. 🏨🛎️🛌

My answer is more like - I used to go camping, but not in years. I went tent camping a lot in college and I loved it. Unfortunately, my husband does not like to camp. He did compromise once and rent an RV when the kids were in grade school. That was pretty much a fiasco and then end of any camping discussions. :)

I have to admit, as crazy as hotel rates are now, I might consider camping, but it isn't something I currently do.
Have you checked campground prices??? I looked at my AllStar Sports reservation and it is less per night than a Ft Wilderness full hookup campsite. Add the cost of an RV (comparing bathroom to bathroom) ... def not a poor man's way to travel.

Yes, my family camps. There have been many camping pauses but in 2020 we started up AGAIN. We bought a small pop-up and away we went. This summer will be camping trip #8 since then. We go as a family with my daughter and my grandson. Last year we had my son join us on a trip. He and his fiance will hopefully join us this August.. It might be my husband and my last camping trip just because it's a LOT of work. I would LOVE to buy a full size trailer with AC and a REFRIG/Stovetop inside but realistically I know it's not a sound decision anymore :(.

I think it’s safe to say that it’s camping season. I know people camp all year, but summer seems the most popular time to camp. So, let’s talk camping this morning…..

Do you go camping?
If yes….what do you like to camp in?
When do you like to camp?
(m.c.)

*For those camping this weekend…..have a fun and safe camping getaway.

*No Other today - not enough spaces available

For Me……I do not go camping :sad2: My DH tells people that camping for me is anything that’s not a 5 star hotel :rotfl:I’m not that high maintenance, but I most definitely do not like to go camping. Sorry campers….its just not for me :sad2:
