Have not camped since I was a teenager. The Treehouse Villas at SSR is the closest I'd like to get. Or I could do an RV but have never stayed in one.

I checked, do not camp. Though we did rent a class C (upper end of that class, I think 30 feet) for a trip to the Smoky Mountains back when Vince and Natalie were 9 and 6 years old. So much fun, so many laughs, so many great memories. We still talk about that trip today, one of our best trips ever.

We ❤️ camping. Started out with a tent when we were first married, went up to a pop up camper when our kids were little, then up to a 32’ 5th wheel. We have two campers now. The 5th wheel camper is permanently parked on our 30 acres of land up north. We bought that property in 2008, and it was hookups for 8 campers so we have family and friends camping with us often. We have trails for walking and ATV riding, a shooting range in back, and my DH and our son built a cook shack a couple years ago. We have a large campfire area too. The 5th wheel has all the comforts of home, a queen size bed, full bathroom, kitchen, living room, A/C and heat, and a deck. We love it up there, and go as often as we can. Heading up again tomorrow morning🙂

We also have a 21’ travel trailer for when we want to travel. We also use it as a guest camper sometimes for our up north place.

Oue son has a grain bin cabin at the back of our property too. He is still working on it, but hopes to complete it this season or next.

We tent camp a few times per year. We also sometimes do primitive cabins and sometimes 'fancy' (heat and bathroom) cabins at local state parks. We're currently looking for a pop up camper to fix up. I like to camp just a few times per year -- usually once around Memorial Day, once in July or August and then sometimes around October, so I don't want to sink money into anything bigger/more expensive but a popup would be pretty convenient to have.

I used to camp all summer long as a kid, but it's been a while. But this summer I'm finally getting back into it -going to stay a long weekend down at the beach. Was originally going to be tent/truck camping but was fortunate enough to have a friend offer up his teardrop unit with a full kitchen in the rear so that will make it much easier! If it works out, I may look into an off-road teardrop I can take with me to more remote locations for some overlanding.

There was no "other", but if there was, I would have selected it. We tried camping in a 5th wheel, rented by a 3rd party, that was dropped off at our campsite at Fort Wilderness. It had 2 bedrooms and a deck. We wanted to experience FW in something other than a cabin.

Although we enjoyed the experience and included golf cart rental, we had significant issues with this vendor. As such, our days of renting an RV/trailer at FW are likely gone for good.

I think it’s safe to say that it’s camping season. I know people camp all year, but summer seems the most popular time to camp. So, let’s talk camping this morning…..

Do you go camping?
If yes….what do you like to camp in?
When do you like to camp?
(m.c.)

*For those camping this weekend…..have a fun and safe camping getaway.

*No Other today - not enough spaces available

For Me……I do not go camping :sad2: My DH tells people that camping for me is anything that’s not a 5 star hotel :rotfl:I’m not that high maintenance, but I most definitely do not like to go camping. Sorry campers….its just not for me :sad2:

Whenever somebody asks me if I'd like to go camping, I tell them, "No thanks, I'm allergic."

Allergic to camping, that is.

I pretty much absolutely and totally hate it. I find none of the experience to be relaxing. It's full of work and a bunch of things that are either irritating or a royal pain in the butt. And at the end of the camping 'vacation,' you need an extra day off in order to catch up on all of the sleep you didn't get on the camping trip plus repack and store all of the gear you had to haul with you to the camping site.

I'd rather go to the dentist than go camping.

I voted no although I did go once. Spent two nights in a tent in Maine over Memorial day weekend on a whitewater rafting trip years ago. Froze our you-know-whats off. Didn't sleep much because I was shivering all night.
Haven't done it since then.

I use to tent camp in my 20s. Also took our kids twice. But we do have a family cottage and that is just preferable. Don't really have camping stuff anymore.

We did camp a lot as a kid.

Seeing @GAN 's post above with the Milky Way reminded me of a glamping trip that's on my wish list. There's a place just to the west of Big Bend NP that offers these stargazing tent cabins for a 'glamping' experience. Not my pictures, but it looks pretty darn spectacular and the reviews are good. I had always wanted to get up the guts to tent camp in Arches during the peak of the Perseids, but this option below may be the better, more comfortable option.

We own a motorhome. We do not camp. We use ours as a mobile resort. We get as close as possible to our destination and operate as any other resort, it's our base of operations. There's also something to be said for having your own house with you.
My requirements are water, sewer, and electric. The site must be level, preferably paved. The place we stay at needs to have amenities like a pool and laundry.
So no, you really can't call what we do camping, and it was never intended to be.

Just a couple examples.

I camped as a kid and a few times in college. I’m not a camper. I have friends who own VW buses and camp. I do day trips to see them, when they camp locally. I will say it's kind of neat to see a campground filled with old vw buses!

Definitely not a camper. I like hotels and resorts. I would stay in a cottage/ cabin/ RV with good facilities but no tent camping for me.
