Those Mickey balloons ::MickeyMo are so much fun to look at - I just love them! I remember when we still had girls in a stroller, that many people bought a balloon to tie to their stroller to quickly identify which stroller was there’s in the stroller parking lot. In the last 5 years, I don’t see that as much anymore. I actually don’t see many people walking with a balloon with or without a stroller. So this has me thinking…..I wonder how many of you have bought a Mickey balloon ::MickeyMo. So let’s talk Mickey balloons today…….

Have you ever bought a Mickey balloon ::MickeyMo at any Disney Resort?
If yes……which Disney Resort?
(multiple choice)

For Me……As much as I love these balloons, I have never bought one. As silly as this reason sounds….its because they’re pricey and I have to pop it or abandon it in the resort room when we leave, and I don’t want to do that (it would make me kinda sad to do that). So, I just have fun looking at the bunch of balloons cast members carry or what other people buy.

Below ⬇️ is a recent picture of me with Mickey balloons ::MickeyMo. You aren’t allowed to touch the balloons, so the cast member did an awesome job hiding behind me so I could take this picture - I’m very grateful for him doing this.

Our sons were a bit older when we did our trips to WDW so they never desired a balloon. They're pretty, tho.

Once a very long time ago - I deflated it and brought it home for the scrapbook
I also received one when I celebrated my birthday one year - it was part of the room deco that was done - again brought it home deflated for the scrapbook
But I agree you just don’t see them purchased like you used to years ago - I’m going back like 30 years here 🤣🤣

It has been many years now.....but I have bought balloons for kids and grand kids several times. At both WDW and DLR (we go to both).
We have received balloons in our room a few times also.

I never get them. I honestly hav enever cared for baloons, even as a kid. I alwasy knew tehy would eventually pop, and I din't like that. I think the loud noise traumatized me once. I am okay with mylar baloons, but honestly, wouldn't want to have to carry one around.

What a great picture, Sandy. Great CM there. And your neat shirt, what a combination!! ::MickeyMo

I may have purchased a balloon for Natalie's boys their first trip, Jeremy was 6, Christopher was 4. Not when going into the park, to carry around all day but rather on our way out to have fun with back at the resort

We had one trip where we bought each kid a balloon. We were driving and we weren't at AKL this trip (I think YC) so no issues with having a balloon at our resort or having to fly with them. They came home with us, fully inflated, and stayed afloat for quite some time. It was a November trip and I think at least one of them still had some life all the way into January.

My favorite balloon story is a bit different though. On my girls' first trip, another little girl gifted DD18 (then 4) with her balloon. It was December, we were at WL, and everything just felt a little extra magical. This other girl was checking out, flying, and couldn't keep her balloon. So, before leaving, they found another little girl (DD) to take care of her balloon. We were flying that trip as well, so when it was our turn to check out, we paid it forward and had DD gift another deserving little girl with the balloon.

I don't think we've bought one, but maybe we did one time when our kids were little (they're 24 and 20 now), I forget.

I can't remember! (Sandy-Thanks for including that option, I could use a "I can't remember" option on most of these polls!) They are cool to look at in the parks:earsboy:

In 54 years have never bought a Mickey balloon. I don't want the hassle of taking care of it, kids each wanting one, worrying about it bopping other people, blocking views at parades, dealing with if it gets taken from stroller or worse if no stroller then where do I leave it ... and older I get more I hate helium balloons outside because if they get loose they are bad for animals and environment. I wish Disney didn't sell them (although they make great photo ops⬇️) but I get it, just won't be a buyer.

My husband bought me one on our honeymoon at WDW. Deflated it and still have it.

This was 36 years ago

Not recently, but I have bought a Mickey balloon a couple of times in the past.

I favor the mylar ones because you can deflate them with a discrete cut in the back and hang them up like a poster for a while longer at home.
The electric companies around here have been trying to get mylar balloons banned for some time. They get caught in power lines and cause power outages.
