it’s been a long time since we’ve had lamb butter or a lamb cake at our house. I can confidently say we haven’t had a lamb butter since my grandma was still with us (she bought it and she passed away March 2005) and we haven’t had a lamb cake since 2013 (I have a picture of DD with it, which is how I remember). For those that don’t know why lamb is significant to Easter, here ya go…..

So let’s discuss lamb butter & lamb cake this Good Friday…..

Will you enjoy lamb cake or lamb butter at Easter?
Will you be buying it/them this Easter or will someone else buy it/them?
(multiple choice)

For Me……No lamb cake or butter for me - we go to Easter brunch. If I host Easter again at my house I will definitely be buying both a lamb cake and butter ::yes:: 👍🏻

My mom always bought a lamb cake for Easter. But I never bought one. There were tastier things to have for dessert than pound cake with coconut frosting. :)

Lamb butter is cute but I can't remember ever having it.

I was about to write that I’d never heard of either products but the picture of the “lamb dog” stirred memories. It wasn’t Nana or Grandmother who molded butter but some one else. Suffice to say it wasn’t a regular sight on this end.

Easter cake? A ring of braided bread with dyed eggs nesting in it was seen growing up as well as hot cross buns but no speciality cake.

I've had both in the past but I know not this year.

Blessings and good wishes for all who celebrate this Easter snd/or Passover time of the year. And thank you, Sandy, for your continuing to bring us your interesting and fun @slo polls.

Never had either, and don’t think I’ve ever seen them in a store or bakery. My family has often had leg of lamb as the traditional main course for Easter dinner, but no butter or cake. Have had a turkey-shaped butter for Thanksgiving. And I’ve also had a homemade Easter bunny cake that looks something like this.

I have never had either......never saw lamb butter in any store here, but I wouldn't get one anyway.

We have "tea" for Easter, no cake at all, but small teas sized treats and sandwiches.....and scones. We do have butter for those.

I made one like this in the past, too!

No lamb butter or lamb cake here.

Our grocery stores have lamb butter (Acme, Food Lion, Safeway). I've bought them in the past but not recently. My MIL used to make the most hideous, garish bunny or lamb (or Chupacabra??? who could tell....) cakes but thankfully those are a thing of the past!

Never heard of either one so nope, never had either. We usually have ham for Easter (which I'm guessing is against most Easter "rules"). We probably won't be doing anything this year as it's just hubby and I. I will try to get a choc. bunny at the store today if they aren't all sold out.

I have never seen or heard of lamb-shaped butter or a lamb cake. I wouldn't buy them. I WOULD, however buy them if they were WHITE CHOCOLATE lamb shapes. They are cute! 🐑

Back when we used to host a family Easter, we always had one person (a nun friend of the family) who would always come with the lamb butter. I have no idea where she would buy it, but that was her contribution each year.

It's been years since I've seen one, but I should try to find one this weekend. That same nun is now 95 and living in an assisted living center and we're taking Easter dinner over to her on Sunday. If I can find a lamb butter, I think she'd appreciate that. :)

Would def buy lamb butter if I saw one, we usually have a butter turkey at Thanksgiving and a butter snowman at Christmas. DGDs will be making a lamb cake here just as they have for most of their lives. :)
