I left a job back in 1989 because they wanted to "promote" me to weekends. I worked weekends for 2 months right out of college, and for 13 months in 2005-06 ........your perspective changes about working weekends when you have 2 kids, 1 in college and need the job. What was toughest about that job was Saturday was a 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm shift, and having to be back in at 9 am Sunday to work until 630 pm, with mandatory overtime build into the Sunday shift.

I’m retired now but for 40+ years I worked in tech…so weekdays, weekends, holidays, during vacations, during hospital stays…basically, I needed to be available 24/7/365…if we were doing a major install or big conversion - we’d work 14 hr days for months at a time, then pull 72 hr shifts during the weekend…and I was always salaried - I never made a dime of overtime…

Saturdays 8am--12pm
Written in stone when I first started with this company.
Not so bad since it is super busy so goes by fast. About 10 years ago we stopped working on Mondays so I usually run errands, do shopping on Saturday afternoon so Sunday & Monday is my weekend.

Yes, I work weekends - about one a month - and all kinds of crazy shifts. As other nurses have said, they schedule heavily on Mondays and Fridays, as well, so it feels like you work weekends a lot. I really don’t mind, it’s nice to have days off during the week, too. And the differentials are good for things like nights, weekends and holidays.

Congratulations, Angie! :jumping1:
