This time of year many of us do a lot of baking for the holidays and one of those things to bake are cookies. Today we’re going to focus on m&m cookies, because I just baked a batch last night. I only bake cookies once a year and that time of year is now. I bake different cookies, but I have always loved m&m cookies since I was a child. My mom never made them, but an aunt did, and I have memories going to her house for a Christmas get together and eating a ton of them. I always told myself that one day I would bake these, and after I got married, I’ve made them every year since - I’ll be married 30 years in June. So I’m curious today……

What is your opinion of m&m cookies?
Do you bake them yourself?
(multiple-choice)

For Me……As I mentioned above, I do love m&m cookies (I just love m&ms - one of my favorite candies). The cookies I make are white chocolate chip with m&ms cookies and they are delicious :goodvibes . I used to make the tollhouse cookie recipe on the back of the bag, but about five years ago, I found another recipe that includes a box of vanilla pudding (the powder not fully made pudding) and this recipe is now my all-time favorite for chocolate chip or the white chocolate chip m&m cookies. I made both types last night and now my baking is done until next year. (I also made 84 peanut butter balls, 86 Oreo balls, 56 whiskey balls and 60 Christmas pretzel hugs this week).

I like to eat M&M's that have various types of nuts inside. Never liked them in cookies and have never baked with them.

I like them, I think the version around here are store-bought. DW has probably made some with DGDs.

I like M&M's and I like milk chocolate in my cookies. But I never bake cookies with M&M's. It doesn't seem to me that they would be better than regular chips.

I like them. I bake them every year because my kids always request them. I don’t think they are any better than a regular chip cookie but I do appreciate that you can use seasonal colors to match whatever holiday it is.

I never had them growing up or homemade at any point. I dont' typically like storebought cookies either, BUT , the M&M cookies from Costco are YUMMY! DH brought home a big tray of assorted cookies, and I may or may not have something to do with all the M&M row being empty.....

I like them well enough and might have made them myself in the past (I've at least had them when someone else made them) but they aren't a must-do for the holiday here. I agree with @pinkxray that it's fun to play with different colors to match the theme of whatever you're making them for.

It's not totally accurate about me disliking M&Ms. I just really dislike the plain chocolate ones often used for baking. The flavor even takes a more unpleasant shift (for me) after baking. So, baking them into cookies is a big no. I have seen a few people who also noticed the taste change that place them in the cookies while they're soft and straight out of the oven. Still, just give me a bag of peanut butter M&Ms and I'll be happy. Caramel and pretzel are also ones I like.

When the kids made gingerbread cookies (men, trees, stars, angels, etc.), I had them use M&Ms for them instead of decorating. Made them want to eat gingerbread. I decorate them with royal icing now that the kids are grown.
