Its that time of year that many of us will be going to Christmas parties. They may be work parties, friend parties, family parties and etc. For some they can be fun and for others, maybe not so much fun. Since it’s Friday, and the start of the weekend, I figured it’s a good time to talk Christmas parties (plus, my DH told me when his work party is when we went to bed last night, so this topic is fresh on my mind). So let’s party today and talk Christmas parties :cool1:

Will you be attending any Christmas parties?
If yes…..how many?
If yes…..with who?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I wouldn’t call my family coming over a party, but for the sake of this poll, I will. So my answer is one. My DH’s work party is employees only, I don’t have a work party since it’s just the doctor and I and I don’t have any friends to have a party with (I have friends, just not friends to do a party with). One is fine with me, especially this year with my foot in a boot after my surgery. For those that will be going to Christmas parties…..have fun and be safe!

Since you're calling family, a party, I will too
:-)

3......Sunday will be my family plus an out of state friend (like an adopted daughter) for lunch.
The 20th will be my family for our family Christmas since DS's family won't be here for Christmas.....they're going to DIL's sister's in Indiana.
Then Christmas with DD, here......that will mean a nice quite day

None !!! Thankfully I have not had any in years by one job we used to have one every year and thankfully it was during the week that I was at DISNEY so I got to miss it every year which made my boss a little mad and I thought well I’m not coming back from DISNEY to go to the Christmas party🤣🤣🤣 I’d rather go to the Christmas events at Disney ❤️❤️❤️ used to have to do the family thing but my family so dysfunctional now we don’t do any events together another blessing!!!

Seen as we're classing going out/seeing family and friends as parties then I've got 4 coming up, mostly going out for meals and drinks with friends or family.

We're also having a work christmas party/outing, but this isn't until January so not sure if that counts!

Unfortunately January doesn’t count… the decor and music would be down lol…

Our family Christmas dinner will be here, but that's not a party.

Last Christmas party I attended was a work party 20 years ago. The work parties were weird because many of the employees were friends and hung out on the regular. The Christmas parties included everyone (including the folks we didn't need to hang out with.)

Lots of parties this time of year!

Yesterday we had our work employee party.
Saturday I am hosting a holiday party.
Next Saturday I will attend a cousin’s Christmas party (cousin’s Christmas!)
The 23rd is I think the 29th anniversary of the 23rd party which is a friends Christmas party.
Family over on Christmas Day if that counts.

Edit. I have a party at a coworkers the Saturday after Christmas, we couldn’t fit it in before.

My middle DS and DIL (from Charleston)are coming today and tomorrow for our Christmas (party). We plan on playing Euchre and eating tostados and lots of dips and partaking in special holiday drinks.

My oldest DS, DIL and my grandkids will be coming in next weekend. While the kids spend the night and have fun with Grandma; the adults will watch the Packer/Bears game out in the barn with extended members of the family. I'm sure there will be "holiday" beverages out there. :santa:

And then we will have an after Christmas party with my youngest DS, DIL and my beautiful autistic granddaughter.

Three completely different parties but all uniquely special to me.

Depending on where you draw the line of what is considered a "party" exactly, I'm in the middle of several - mostly different Lodge events - Santa breakfasts, dinners, etc. And we'll do a big family day at my in-laws' house on Christmas.

I was thinking the same thing. I’ve already been to a big church banquet, an industry-wide business event and we’ve had our office potluck. We’ve got our fancy cocktail party the company puts on later today and a friend’s big annual open house on Saturday. Our business unit will have a formal dinner-dance next Friday and we’ll have company over to our place for dinner at least twice in the coming weeks. We’ve got our standard NYE plans with a group of us that always get together. And if anything else comes up, I’m in!! :santa:

We technically had/have five invites on the calendar. Most have already occurred. I could not attend everything.
- Work party for all regional employees
- Work party for my division's two teams
- Softball party for travel ball
- Softball party for school ball
- Invited to the school choir's gathering this weekend for pancakes with Santa

I actually bought two new holiday tops because I'm not used to having this much going on.

Tomorrow will be our fourth holiday party in 8 days.

Last Friday, we did a progressive dinner with one set of neighbors (three different houses during the night).
Wednesday was a small gathering at our friends' parents house.
Last night was a party we hosted for some of my wife's former staff / admins.
Tomorrow night is a holiday party with our other set of neighbors (lake house).

We had a holiday gathering during the day here at work, but I was stuck on a 2 hour conference call that day so couldn't attend.

Now that my wife is retired, we don't have her firm's party anymore - although that's usually held in January, since it's easier to try to find a date that works for most people. We also will have a January "holiday" party that our gym holds every year as well.

Like others, I don't really count Christmas Eve / Christmas Day either. We host people for those days as well - then go to my parents' house with my siblings and our niece / nephews a few days after Christmas.

Already had my two work parties. Next week I have a friend one, then I fly to my parents' house for actual Christmas.

It doesn’t have to be. The venue can decorate and play whatever music the customer desires. We often had our work party in early January because December was just too busy (worked in the tourist industry in Orlando). They were always Christmas themed.

The only party I went to this year was MVMCP. Still looking for work so no work party and my friends and family circle doesn’t throw parties.

We will only be attending the family parties. One party with one side of the family and one with the other side. This is the first year that I'm not going to my former office party. It doesn't appeal to me now that I'm retired.

I have already attended 1 party this year for work and will attend one for family later in the month. Husband's work party was cancelled this year.

Have invitations to a few holiday parties (8 at last count) but not sure how many I’ll attend; probably 2.
