Sling TV?

I did a ton of research when i was about to cancel FiOS... I looked at Sling TV, Direct TV Now, PSvue and Hulu. I ended up going with PS Vue and am VERY happy with it. Ultimately it comes down to the channel packs that you want and what you can live without. After 8 months with PSvue, im glad i went with it. The simultaneous streams and unlimited dvr is what got me on board.

Here is a good site that lays out all of the differences...

Also note, I use Fire TV Sticks to steam PSvue and it works great.

We have Sling and an antenna for local channels. Quite happy with both from a former DirecTV customer.

We have Sling and love it. We went with the cheapest package - the one with ESPN and HGTV. Between Sling and Netflix we definitely do not miss cable. I’ve read reports of people having trouble with buffering, and while we have buffering, it only lasts a few seconds.

My take, try them all. Give the free tests a run and then decide. We picked up an AppleTV with 3 months of service for DirectTV now. My wife likes it, we also use Amazon Prime which I find myself watching a bit more.

I reupped our fios contract for another two years. We’re now paying $166 up from $133 a month for 50/50 internet speed, 2 TVs, multi room DVR, ultimate hd package with all premium channels except hbo and showtime. DH cannot live without nba tv and nfl Redzone so looks like we’re stuck.

We use Set TV. We pay $20 a month for every channel you can think of, including all sports channels and HBO, Cinemax, etc. We also use Netflix.

We've had Sling for a couple of years now and are pleased with it. We are former Dish/Direct customers (we would switch back and forth each time our two year contract expired). I LOVE that we can add add and drop the $5 packages whenever we want. For example, we add the sports package from September-April because my husband loves college basketball, but we drop it in the other months because nobody watches it. We also add/drop the kids package from time to time too. I love having no contract for a service as well, because if times ever got tough, it's something we could immediately cut off.

We are in our third year using sling tv. We have the amazon fire stick and download tons of apps through that. We LOVE Sling, especially the sports options available. The only channel that does not work very well is Free Form....disney owned. Other than that, we have no issues and we can choose the channel options.

We also have PS Vue and have been very happy with it. Our package is under $50/mo, and I love the DVR!

Agreed, so far I've had no issues with the quality of the stream and am only paying 40$. My favorite feature is the individual profiles so my DVR isn't clogged with my fiance or daughters shows.

I should try that! Thanks for the tip.

Had it a few years. It's pretty good, they definitely black out some content, and there are definitely lag issues that seem to affect certain channels (I notice it most frequently with Comedy Central for some reason.) Also you'll get sick of seeing the same commercials over and over again (ha - if I see that Downy "you look amazingly... comfortable" ad ONE MORE TIME...)
