DBF and I are going to have our first stay at DVC Dec8-16. We had been hoping for BWV 1 bedroom but checked today and they only had preferred view available (cant book whole stay till 16th anyway but dbf wanted to check). So now we are probably going to stay at SSR unless in June we can book AKV. We'll see what happens. I know no matter what it will be special

If there is anything at the BW durning that time book it and be happy that is one of if not the busiest time for DVC

Get on the waiting list. We have always had good luck with the waiting list, even at busy times. December is still a long way away and I would think your chances are good. Give it a try. If not, you will like SSR too

I'll be thrilled to be anywhere in WDW. For months we hoped for BWV. I think if we stay at SSR we'll be happy. It's beautiful, its where we first saw DVC. Next time...i wont set my heart on anything..i'll just wait and see what they have when its time to book

My sentiments entirely. I was kind of thinking the same thing. We have just booked at SSR for August this year. I said to DH should we try for BWV (stayed there in Feb on rented points and LOVED it) and he said, no we own at SSR and therefore our first trip 'home' should be at our home resort. I know he is right and I am sure we will love it just as much as BWV

SSR is nice I own there as well
But that time of year is hard.....
In fact last year at the 7 month window SSR only had a studio for part of my trip and we needed a two bedroom
we stayed at OKW as SSR is more popular being it is close to DTD and there is a lot going on there around Christmas

Boardwalk View is 20% of the resort.

While it isn't unheard of for non-home resort owners to book BW View for an entire trip (or Standard View - another 20% of the resort) without using the waitlist, it isn't easily done - and it is nearly impossible from October through the Marathon.

If I were you I would get on a waitlist. We have BCV booked Dec 5-10 and are hoping for VWL but are doubtful we will get it, we plan to waitlist for it, worst case scenario we stay at BCV!!!! A day at ANY DVC is better than a day in PA
