I very much want to try my hand at decorated paper slide mounts but I don't have the Sizzix dies and I can't find any of the handy-dandy little blanks that BAMB used for her Slide Mount class.

Any ideas on what I can do? The only thing I have ready access to are the plastic slide mounts.

TIA!

You can wrap the paper around the plastic ones. Just be sure to use the super sticky double sided tape and maybe scratch up the plastic a little with an emory board.

The swap glossary has a link that takes you through the steps using the square of paper and cutting an X in the middle.

When I was at CKC we covered plastic ones just like the directions. I used glue dots, and it worked great. We only used 1/2 of the slide mount, so it's like getting 2 for each one...

Aaaah! Thanks for the info! I was thinking they wouldn't work but I guess I'll give it a try. At lease I finally got a Crop-a-dile so I can punch through the plastic ones.

I could only find the plastic ones to begin w/ and I roughed them up w/ the nail file...and adhered my paper over top... :)

I love my sizzix die for that...and I used the frame on George I think.. let me figure what I used... hold on.. and it made a cute thin, petite slide mount...I used the silhoutte feature on George for some slide mounts...

Michael's sells the cardboard slide mounts - if there's one in your area. There are 16 in the pack for $4.99 (unless you use your 40% coupon) and they're located with tags and pockets in ours.

I've been making them like crazy and think I'm addicted to covering and decorating slide mounts. I've been giving them away to friends who scrap. I had to go back to Michael's to buy another package.

Thanks BAMB for the detailed instructions!

One question - I don't take the paper. Do you know of another way to get a Michael's 40% off coupon?
