I have a few questions about the sleigh ride. Have they offered it in past years? Is it worth it? I was told when I made my ressies that you could have 3 adults and 1 child, max of 4 total, , and then I asked if you could have 2 adults and 3 small children, she came back and said that would be fine. In fact, you could have a total of 5, but now more then 3 adults. So what is it? I don't want to bring an extra kid from a family travelling with us if we can't all get on. Alsom how much do you tip the driver?

We did the sleigh ride last December...the route we took was down the main road a bit and through a dark pathway, then we turned around and headed back and did a loop around the lodge where the villas are. We were able to see the Wishes fireworks due to the timeframe of our ride. I don't remember how much it cost last year...it was a nice ride, but we wouldn't find it necessary to do again if given the opportunity. We tipped our driver $10 (it was me, DH and DS4) and he seemed surprised to receive that much for a tip. Not sure as to the max amount of people...the "sleigh" is just a small horse-drawn buggy, so the three adults max you were told might be because of weight constraints?

DH & I did the WL sleigh ride last year. It was alot of fun! I would think that 2 adults and 3 small children would be fine. We tipped our driver $5.

Does this leave from WL? Sounds great. I hate to add more questions, but here goes:

1) Do you have to be staying at WL? We'll be at the Swan Thanksgiving weekend and I might like to do this

2) how much does it cost

You do not have to be a guest of WL. Anyone can do it. Just call for your day & time. The sleigh ride leaves from the very front of the WL under the portico. I can't remember how much it cost from last year. Seems like it was in the $30-$40 range plus we tipped the driver.

When I booked the Sleigh Ride, I thought they said that they would charge my credit card 24 hours before the sleigh ride. Is this true, or should I bring enough cash to pay for the ride the night of? Thanks for the help!

We have one booked for December. I believe I was told we had to pay the driver cash or it could be charged to the room--no credit cards.

I believe DisneyPanda is correct. I seem to remember paying our driver cash last year or it could be added to room charge. We also tipped our driver after our ride.

McKelly,
I was told that my cc would be charged if I cancelled w/o giving a 24 hour notice.

Now, I have a dilemma because DH told my FIL that we are doing this, and he is planning on going. He is a larger man and my DH is also. I really think that the 3 of us and 2 kids would be too heavy. And I wanted to get a break from the other 6 members of the family that we are spending the week with!

I was told when I booked a few weeks ago that there is a 4 person maximum. I have two rides booked so that we can accomodate our group. I would suggest to FIL that he book a separate sleigh ride with some of the other family members.

We have this booked for Christmas Eve.

Cost: $30.00 per sleigh.

We were told to bring cash - they will only charge your CC if you fail to show.

The ride last about 30 minutes and 4 people - or two adults and three small children is the max.

Make your reservations by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

Hope this helps.

glad to learn all this info from this thread - I'm going to call right now and book mine. I hope they are doing it as early as Thanksgiving weekend!

Would anyone who has this booked be so kind as to give a report when they return. I would love to hear about this for my trip next Christmas. Thanks.

We booked for the December 19th. There will be 4 adults all medium sized. Will we be too crowded?

We are booked for 5:30pm on December 18 followed by dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Our ride is at 8:30. We want to eat at Whispering Canyon prior to that. At what time do you think we whould arrive at WC to ensure that we make it in time?

The CM I booked with told me to be at Port Cache 15 minutes prior to my Sleigh Ride time.

Where do you call to make a reservation for the sleigh ride? How far in advance can you reserve? How many do they do each night and at what times? Been to WDW lots of times but I've never done the sleigh ride. Sounds like fun.

You can call 407-WDW-PLAY. I just booked mine over the weekend for December 9. The only time they had available was 10pm, and there was only one sleigh available. So if interested, I would try to book right away. I also inquired about December 6, but nothing was available. I was told the max for the sleigh was 5, nothing about how many adults and kids. If you do not cancel by 24 hours prior to the time of your scheduled ride, they will charge your card. At the time of the ride you can pay with cash or charge it to your room.
