Me (44) Writer to the Dis Boards, Helper to DisneySis in making WDW planning arrangements. 5 times to WDW in the past 27 years and about the same for Disneyland.
I tried getting to bed early the night before knowing that we had an 8:00am PS for Chef Mickey's. Our sleeping arrangements had been changed and I was to share the guest room with DisneySis, Grandma Mouse and Dodie. I am a light sleeper, but instead of taking a sleeping medicine because I thought it would leave me groggy in the morning I thought I would just tough out the snoring.
Missy and Melly had mentioned it to me, but I thought it would not bother me, it did. I just could not get to sleep. So I ended up going out to the living room and sleeping on the cushions which was not to bad. Morning comes and Dodie asks me why I moved, So I say its because of one family members snoring, Big Mistake!
DisneySis informs me that I snore too. Well how would I know? I can't hear myself.
So starts our day, not on a happy note.
We get on the bus to MK and the driver was nice eoungh to drop us off at the Contemporary on the way. I'm sure it was because the rest of them were running late and I told him so, he was going around the OKW run and we were able to catch him at the HH the last stop. Whew! Made it and actually we were on time!
If you've been to Chef Mickey's then you know they have a Celebration and they twirl their napkins up above their heads and sing " Let's PARTY!" Best part of the whole dining experience, even if I was crabby.
We proceed after Chef Mickey's to go over to MK and ride on some rides. Our main mission to get my big brother on Splash Mountain. We get the fastpasses for it and then realize he did not give us his card to obtain a fastpass. Missy is not to happy
Main reason we are doing this is to get a picture of the siblings all together on this ride. Me, DisneySis, Sonny and Sonny's 3 daughters, Missy, Dodie and Melly. As luck would have it Splash Mountain breaks down and so does BTMR
They get them fixed and Missy does some fast talking to the CM saying we forgot to get her dad a fast pass. They let him on and away we go. Missy&Sonny in the back, Dodie & DisneySis in the middle and us babies, Melly &Me in the front. Oh no not again!
But the picture once again turns out great. What an awesome memory
We spend a couple of more hours riding rides and then its time to head back. Missy leaves today.
We go back to the resort and after Missy departs back to DC we decide to go over to the Boardwalk and get the "Kitchen Sink" at Beaches & Cream.
I love the Boardwalk, it just feels so festive to me. I decide while we are there that I am going to get my hairwrapped. Never done it before and I thought it would be fun. So the others go on and want to go and look at the Dolphin & Swan. I tell them I will catch up with them at B&C in about an hour. The hairwrap takes 15 minutes. Silly me forgot my cell phone at the resort, so I end up waiting and walking around looking for my group. I think we just kept missing one another. By the time we all catch up it must be around 8;30PM and Sonny, Mrs Sonny and the rest of us are hungry. Of course Sonny does not listen to us about ordering light since the Kitchen Sink is huge. His wife is not to happy because it is getting later. Then after we order she tells us she can not eat chocholet. We had realized that so my sister asked the CM to bring her a dish of vanilla ice cream. We then also learned DO NOT ORDER FOR DSIL.
So then my sister cancels the order for her. We then overhear DSIL asking my brother if it is OK for her to have some icecream?
He orders it and we eat what we can of the "Kitchen Sink". Wow, it was a lot of ice cream!
By now it is getting close to 10PM and my poor DSIL is besides herself thinking we are going to miss the bus back to OKW. I have never seen her move so fast through Epcot. I asked a security person if we would make the bus and he said yes. But she must not have believed him. Finally my sister and I gave up on trying to keep up. For once I was relaxed or just to tired to try and run along with her. As we get closer to the busses we can see ours to OKW and Melly gets the bright idea of asking her mother how she would like to spend the night at Epcot. We tried to warn her not to, but she went up to her mother in spite of our warnings, put her arm around her and asked, then ran back to let us know that her mom did not want to be spending the night at Epcot!
We made our bus and actually sat and waited in it for about another 15 minutes. So much for racing across Epcot. I forgot to mention that DSIL had been up since 5:30am without any break during the day.
The moral of this story is to rest and relax. It makes for much more of a Magical Day
