Sleeping arrangements with littles

We have a deluxe family ocean view on the wish with a queen, fold down sofa, and a pull down bunk. We have 2 kids who are too old for a pack n play but definitely too young for the bunk (under 5). Any tips or tricks on sleeping arrangements for first time cruisers? Could they make a bed on the floor for the toddler?

Does your stateroom have the extra Murphy bed? That might solve the issue. If not, there should be room to put an air mattress in that area (a toddler-sized one should travel easily). Another option might be to put both kids on the sofa with heads at opposite ends. I know people who asked the stateroom host to do this.

Unfortunately no Murphy bed. Thanks for the tips. We may have them practice sharing a bed before our trip and see how that goes

Another option to explore -- it may be possible to change to another stateroom in that category, one that does have the murphy. You might want to call DCL to check that option (or have your TA call if booked through a TA). I don't think you would be charged to change staterooms within the same category, but changing categories does result in a charge so make sure you know if they are charging or not.

Put both on the twin with heads in each direction. It’s how my little sisters slept on bunks till they were old enough to top bunk

We had the 6yo up top and the 2yo on the bunk but even at those ages they could have slept together on one bunk either just together or one at each end. Though last week at my in laws the 2yo kept climbing up to the top bunk in the wee hours of the morning and sharing with his big brother.

Thanks, we will look into this. When we first booked this trip our youngest was tiny and in a pack n play. We’ve rescheduled a couple times because of Covid concerns and we were just so excited to book knowing our kids would be vaxxed we overlooked this important fact that the little one wouldn’t be so little anymore! Oops!

So sweet!!! I think we can handle both on the bottom bunk if your 6 & 2 year old would have had enough room to share. I don’t know why this little situation was stressing me out haha Our little one will be just over 2, so we haven’t given them any opportunities to share a bed yet, but I think they will do just fine

Confirming this. If you are able to modify your stateroom online (i.e., you don't have a TA or a booking with some sort of restriction), you can do that too. I just switched staterooms online our cruise on the Wish next year. I wanted the same room type (deluxe family room with verandah) but I wanted to move after seeing that the room I originally booked had a slight balcony obstruction. I discovered that as long as stayed in the exact same category I originally booked (4C in my case) I could choose any room available in that category and my price stayed exactly the same as the original price I booked months ago. However, if I changed category (e.g., moved to a higher floor) the price changed to current rack rates, which were substantially higher due to price increases since the time I'd first booked. Needless to say I kept my original category! Since the family stateroom category OP booked includes rooms with the murphy bed and without, it shouldn't be a problem to switch to a murphy room in the same category if one is available.

They now charge if you change staterooms, even for cabins in the same category. They started charging earlier this year.

That's what everyone keeps saying but it isn't true. I found out my Deluxe Family Verandah room for the Wish in Jan didn't have a Murphy bed. We didn't realize they didn't all have them. I asked my TA to check into a different room and let me know the new price. She specifically said there is no price change for a change like this. We stayed in the same category of room (4C) and once she completed the change...NO PRICE INCREASE! This was just last week.

Caught onto this and just changed our stateroom for a February sailing within 4C to get the Murphy bed. Definitely a better situation for our kids and I heard it provides a little extra storage as well.
