Sleeper chairs at BCV or BWV

Does anyone know if DVC plans to put sleeper chairs in the 2-BR units at either BCV or BWV? And if so, when?

They have not and I doubt they will. I don't think there's room for them given the size of the living rooms of these resorts.

I agree with Tara. The living rooms are too small to put the sleeper chair in those one bedroom villas. Right now the large side chair takes up most of the room and you have to move it to open up the sleeper sofa. If they changed out the TV credenza with a wall mounted TV and smaller storage cabinet (perhaps under the counter ledge where the chairs are placed to sit and eat).

I wish they would do that, then I could actually go from a 2 bdroom to a 1bdr and have more points and a w/d in our place!

Since they already did a complete renovation at BWV, it's probably not going to happen there.

There isn't room at the BWV for a sleep chair in the 1 or 2 bedroom villas. It is already tight when the sleeper sofa is open. IMO, that is also true for BCV & VWL. Not sure about SSR, but I would guess not enough room there, either.

first the reason that BLT has this - is the studio is so small. So the 1-bedroom is really bigger than it should be.

Kidani had the room - so it works well there.

I stayed at BWV last month in a 1 bedroom and was thinking there would not be enough room. My friend used the sofabed and had to move the coffee table over in front of the balcony door before pulling it out. Plus we were in a lockoff, with the connecting door open there would be no way, that chair in this picture would have to be moved.

Thanks for all the responses. Haven't stayed in BCV or BWV for a couple of years, but looking back, I didn't think they would have room for the sleeper chair. I've been thinking about going back to one of those resorts soon but probably just with my husband and myself. OKW is so spacious and we always stay there when we go with my DD and her family.

I don't think SSR would have the room, either. DH and I had that very discussion one night on a split stay while we were looking at the unfolded sofa. Later we switched from our 2br at SSR to a 2br at BLT and everyone in the group commented on how much bigger the living area there was.

I think there is more bathroom space at BWV/VWL/BCV than there is at AKV/BLT.

I don't know how they compare - the master bath at AKV is gigantic. The one at BLT isn't that small - though I don't really remember enough about how it compares to others. What I do know is that there's no rabbit warren of doors like I've experienced at SSR/BCV/VWL. That layout is the pits IME.

That's what I had about SSR./BCV/BWV and VWL too! Those doors make not sense and cause a waste of precious space. Definitely a design flaw that got repeated over and over. I can't figure out why they didn't stick with the layout of OKW when they built the others.

I don't think they wanted to build the others with as much space. By cutting back the space, they could fit more rooms in the building. The newer buildings at OKW have the 2 bathroom entrances. They didn't have a laundry room at the others to cut through for the 2nd bathroom entrance, but they still have the 2 entrances, so that people sleeping in either the bedroom or living room can enter privately.

The problem is there needed to be a way for someone sleeping on the pullout sofa to get to the bathroom without walking into the master bedroom as you have to do in some of the earlier OKW buildings. It also has the advantage that someone can be using the tub and someone else can use the shower in privacy.

They addressed this in the later buildings in OKW by providing access to the bathroom through the laundry room which was a good solution. Unfortunately in Jambo House (where there wasn't room for the second bathroom they included in the 1BRs in Kidani and BLT) they separated the master bedroom from the bathroom with a small hallway. That means that you cannot pass between the bedroom and bathroom in privacy. I would much rather have the multiple doors than the Jambo House arrangement.

I understand the reasoning behind the design, I just hate the execution. It would have been so much nicer if they'd used a pocket door between the master bath area and the shared bath area. I haven't seen the Jambo house arrangement, but I assume they did the best they could do given the limitations created by retrofitting the space. In any case, Kidani and BLT have a MAJOR advantage over other resorts in my book because of this.
