Skyliner transfers at CBR after closing

If all lines close at, say, 10.30pm and you get on at Epcot at 10:25, can you still transfer to the Pop Century line in the Caribbean Beach station even though it's going to be 10:45 when you get there? Perhaps they just close the external pathway into the hub at 10:30?

I think they will not strand people at CB. They sometimes ask as you are heading up the path to Skyliner, where are you headed? One day we were told AOA/Pop line was down, so we had to take a bus (from Studios).

Epcot is the awkward one I guess, because of you've exited out of International Gateway and only then find out that the Skyliner queue has closed, or that it's still open but they won't let you on because your destination involves a transfer at a station that will be closed by the time you get there or the other line is down, you've got to walk back a mile through Epcot to the buses. I can only imagine another way out of this is to lay on a special bus service from CBR to Pop/AoA? It's also a more general problem - suppose Skyliner is down and is not going to come back up, how do you know that before heading out towards International Gateway?

Why don’t they just install a billboard like they have at the resorts for transportation? It should be inside the park, before guests exit to the skyliners. It could notify people which ones are operating and give other pertinent information.

And, for that matter, what happens if you're already on the Epcot-CBR line and THEN the Pop/AoA line goes down? All sorts of awkward scenarios! Unless they lay on a special bus you've got to get a Lyft or something to get back to your resort. I suppose that's something they will do in this situation, they can re-route buses and call on extra buses quite easily.

You can always take a bus from which ever hotel you are "stuck" at because one of the skyliner lines are down to Disney Springs. Then take a bus to Pop/AoA (or whatever your final destination is. For IG, you walk over to one of the Yacht/BC

So an unexpected hour-long journey on 2 buses in place of a 5 minute Skyliner flight? That doesn't seem very satisfactory.

I'll bet that there will be buses at the CBR station if the connecting lines have closed. The one thing I know for sure is that Disney will not purposely strand guests.

Same reasoning that there is bus service to closed parks. Guests might have left a vehicle there and need to get it. I drove many guests to DAK well after park closing (and after Rainforest had closed) to get their car.

I cannot confirm or deny that some guests may have been dropped off at their car instead of the bus stop.

I would expect they will track the last cabin leaving each terminal at closing, and not close connections until after that cabin has arrived at CBR. But that's my expectation. Obviously, only Disney knows the official procedure.

I was just providing an option, if Disney didn't have a contingency plan in regards to providing buses or other modes (gratis)

When the Pop line went down unexpectedly, after we got off the DHS line we were directed to a bus at CBR and driven to Pop and AoA. I imagine they will either run the lines long enough for transfers or provide buses at CBR.

From previous posters in the Skyliner thread you might think they would just flip at switch at closing time and if you are in a car they will just leave you there overnight, until they turn it back on in the morning. ;)

All the more reason to keep bus service in effect from Epcot to Skyliner resorts at all times.

Then anyone having a doubt about the Skyliner need only exit via Future World. Easy peasy.

"Disney secret": ALthogh buses normally do not take guests from resorts to closing parks, they will if the guest needs to get his car from that park's lot.

The night that the skyliner went down for hours, they were directing people from International Gateway to Boardwalk to catch a bus. They ran a bus Pop > AoA > CBR > BW while it was down.

See that's what happened during the recent unexpected downtime. Someone bumped that switch. Last I heard they were putting sleeping bags next to the survival kits. It costs $400/person and Disney takes all major credit cards.
