Skyline Terrace - is it worth it?

Has anyone done this?
I'm considering it for my trip, after converting to AU$ it would be around $400 so it's a LOT of money I could be spending elsewhere.
However, last trip in November we didn't get to see any castle projections because it was just too crowded and my kids are small and couldn't see anything.

Will we be able to see from the Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace?
The food sounds really not like anything I would eat, but willing to forgo that for the view.

I believe the view is of the Matterhorn and the fireworks. There’s a picture in post 48 of the Halloween Dining Packages thread.

You will not see any projections whatsoever from the Terrace. The best place to view projections is about 3/4 of the way down Main Street, so you can see the Main Street projections as well as the castle. As you said, it can be challenging for small kids, so a better option might be to get a spot on the curb on MS early, and plan on holding the smallest ones.

Thinking about doing this for Thanksgiving with a friend - we'd miss the projections and snow (I assume) but with the high crowds I'm wondering if worth going up there instead of just staying in the park area that night? Anyone have more experience to share. $89/pp Thanks!

P.S. Does anyone know if the music is working - have seen reviews saying no music, which would be a deal breaker lol.

Here is the way I look at it. Would the kids prefer this or me spending that money on cool treats and souvenirs. If you think they would prefer the experience over things then do it. =)

Did it tonight - waste of money but worse, missed the night time Parade for this? No CM never stopped by to see if we needed anything, were not even offered water (apparently needed to go find drinks?). Food was just okay, pick up at window down at Galactic Grill. It did come with a fun "lighted" drink at the Grill, but we did not know if could keep the lights, and when we went for water they cleared the table - we had not finished desert. The view was okay, but from there you miss projections and snow IF there are fireworks. We were so happy we left early, since Main Street had a cute (instead of fireworks due to winds) show would have missed entirely if stayed on the Terrace.

Essentially, insanely overpriced seating for a reservation You have to keep or forfeit (at $89/pp) if not cancelled two days in advance - where you are expected to stand around waiting 20 minutes, for food you pick up and carry upstairs yourself. They do not even guarantee the menu items will be available - first come, first served. No bathrooms upstairs. I've had far more fun for "free" sitting down at the Galactic Grill. Nothing remotely special about this other than a "lanyard" to walk up to the pre-assigned seating area. I am very forgiving of Disney tack-on charges, but this, frankly, pissed us off. YMMV.

Ask a CM at guest services to be certain, but they usually also do the projections onto the IASW façade. It’s possible the IASW holiday changes things, but I’m almost certain they still do them. It’s pretty open over there, and they used to have a sitting area up front and a standing area at the back. But virtually everyone stayed seated. A lot fewer people go over there, so there’s not usually the same crush of humanity that there is at the castle.

Our family has liked watching the fireworks from there too, even before projections were a thing. The biggest thing you miss is seeing Tinker Bell fly to the castle from the Matterhorn to start the show. But if they don’t know and are pretty little yet, I wouldn’t stress about that part. My 4 boys were usually like, “Who cares? Tinker Bell is a girl… “ Then I said “Well, I care cuz I *like* girls” to which their dad would usually give me a big dramatic kiss and say, “I like girls too puckerup:” and we’d get a chorus of “yuck…” “eewww…” and “gross”.

Fun times. 🤣
