this use to be a better deal - but hey $249 for a week in a timeshare is still pretty good.

just do a search for 'VACATION RENTAL CERTIFICATES'

I just checked and this is definitely not the deal it used to be. We just returned yesterday from a week at Orbit One. We paid $279 plus the resort fee ($8/day). Now with this new deal, it's $249 + $20 but Orbit One is also tacking on a $200 fee. That brings the total to $469. It doesn't say anything about the resort fee so I'm not sure if the $200 covers that or not. I realize that's still just $67/night but we just paid about $335 vs. it now costing $469.

They've also changed the search. You can't just look for something in the Orlando area. You have to enter the property name. Either that or I'm just doing it wrong.

Hmmm, I do believe you're doing something wrong - I have no issues searching different locations.

I figured it out, only after contacting Skyauction support. There is a drop down menu that I just didn't realize was there. It's still wonky, though. When I search Disney area, Orbit One doesn't come up. It only shows when I search for it specifically. I wonder how many other Disney area properties aren't showing up in that search.

That and the fact that instead of the certificate covering the stay, most places are adding on an additional $150-$200 on top of the certificate and this just isn't the deal it used to be.

I know what you mean...always read the fine print. Some properties don't charge additional fees & some do.

It looks like the add on $200 may be due to the dates you are selecting. I see some weeks at the same property are only +$100 where other weeks have no fee. I also notice that most of the larger units have the add on fee.

I also wouldn't limit yourself to only one resort, there are so many great ones in Orlando.

I see Orbit One on page four when I do a search of Disney Area. It is called Orbit One Vacation Villas. Not sure there are any missing. There are four pages of availability for when I searched the middle of May (low season). The resorts aren't the top tier ones that you can find on II if you are a timeshare owner. But of course, those on II are usually double this price or more. I found no Marriott's or Sheraton timeshare properties and only one Westgate. Westgate properties are good, just DON'T EVER GO TO ONE OF THEIR SALES PRESENTATIONS.

Thanks dioxide. I'll look again. The whole search function seemed to be weird when I had looked.

I know there are lots of great properties which is why I wanted to make sure search was working properly. I always check Orbit One because we have stayed there numerous times and for $45 or so a night, it's a steal. Booking is on my To Do list for today so I'll see what I end up with.
