I'm trying to decipher the page I printed out to see if it has any clue what section or room number. There is a line that states: We are pleased to confirm your vaction exchange into the following resor: #450 Sheraton's Vistana Resort (RCI0450). Does the #450 mean room number? Or is it the resorts exchange number?

the number it is listed under in RCI.

it is resort number 0450.

on exchanges you generally don't know the room number until you get to the resort. Even if there is one printed on your receipt (very unlikely with RCI) - the resort retains the right to put you in another room.

with a skyauction rci exchange confirmation, the reservation does not usually flip over to your actual name ....until about a week or less prior to your arrival ......

up until that time there is a something like MHI designation ( at least that is what is on our exchange rescheduled from september to december )

When are you going...and what kind of rate did you get from Skyauction? Have used a friend's RCI exchange before to stay at the Vistana. Would love to go again. How difficult was the Skyauction process?
:bounce: :earseek:

can anyone use skyauction? We are thinking of off site for the fisrt time this summer and I would like to get a condo type room. thanks!:D

Absolutely, DisneycrazyMom! Just go to skyauction.com, and follow the instructions to become a member ( it's free to join). I am completely computer illiterate, so if I can do it and manage to win 2 ready, set, go auctions anyone can!

The Ready, Set, Go! auctions are the least expensive. They generally go for around $50-$60. per week, plus admin and service charges of $210. Both of the auctions I won came to $262. total. Go to the skyauction website, click on the "search" button from the taskbar along top. Type in keyword "ready" and it will open a menu showing the current ready, set, go (RSG) auctions.Select any one of the auctions, and scroll down about a 1/4 of the page, and click the button that says " Click here to see where your next vacation will be". You will then be able to plug in your travel dates and see what comes up. If you see something you like, you can reserve it, and that will take it out of inventory for 24 hours while you try to win an auction to pay for it. If you don't win, it goes back to inventory, no harm done. You can also win an auction ahead of time, and then when you find something you like, reserve it and email skyauction with your winning auction number. You can chose from ANY of the accomodations that are available for the dates you want, and all of the accomodations are the same price. For example, you might see that for your dates there is a 1bdrm, a 2 bdrm, & a 3 bdrm available. It doesn't matter which you chose, once you win an auction that is all you pay! We had a fabulous 2 bdrm condo, it was great. They might not have availability showing yet for the summer, so just keep trying. Good Luck!

the RSG are not always the least expensive - sometimes on the regular route - you can get one for under $15 +$195+$15 - just depends/

Wow, spiceycat, I did not know that! The dedicated auctions I have seen I thought usually went around $200-$300, and then I assume the $195. + $15. Is there a trick for what I should be looking for?

right now someone is complainting that there are no RSG in Orlando period.

yes just go the regular route - (but wait until the last few minutes to bid) - don't draw unnecssary attention to what you want.

click on US/Canada - then click on Florida (to the right side) - then click on hotels (down right)

Thank you Faye. I am going to go over and look around. We think we might like a condo this summer, I'd love to save money too!:D

I joined the Skyauction site and have been looking around all day! There are some great deals there. I am not finding too much availability for our week. (June 3-12) Am I too early? I can wait if more choices will pop up toward the date.

Thanks for helping me find this helpful site!:D

You get the best deals waiting about three months out. I was able to book mine 6 months out. Some places are booking until December 2005. Do check back and search the site. Good luck.

Do you book a stand-by just in case or just wait? I am thinking I will just wait as we are ok with several different places and something will be available even if we have to pay more than Skyauction would be. Thanks!:D

I would definitely book a standby reservation somewhere that you can cancel in the event you get lucky on Skyauction. In the event nothing comes up on SA, you'll still have a place to stay. Starting this far in advance is good too, because you can be on the lookout for good deals between now and your trip. Good Luck! :D
