SKYAUCTION: Any way to change a getaway week won on home and awaytype auction?

I am very familiar with skyauction and have won several home and away type auctions.
I won one in the spring and called the getaway week phone # and booked as soon as I saw the inventory I was looking for.

Now the dilemma:
We would like to totally change our holiday plans and will not need the week. Instead of letting it go to waste (which would be a real shame since it is at a nice RCI gold crown property) do you think getaway weeks/skyauction would let me cancel that week and book another?

Has anyone ever done anything like this and if so, how did it work out for you?

you can only call or email them and see.

I would think the answer is no.

but you have to ask them to really see.

I don't think any changes are allowed. If you can't change the date, see if you can add a name to the reservation certificate. If so, then someone else could use it. This would open up a number of possibilities.

The only way to change the booking is to claim an error was made when you booked it. They are trained not to change them for any reason and I don't think there are very many operaters. In addition, I think they work on commission.

But, I do know that If you ask to speak with a supervisor, they will transfer you to RCI's supervisor line and then maybe they might change it.

I book a lot of vacations so I've gotten to know some of the people that work on the phones. I probably know more than most people do.

This happened to me. We had to change our plans due to a death in the family and they transferred me to a RCI representative. They were very accommodating and I was able to change my week to the following year.
