Just wondering.... is the new Skull Island King Kong ride supposed to be the same/similar to the Kong ride at Universal Hollywood?

If the new attraction turns out to be Skull Island it will not be the same. The CA version is a Tram Tour “drive through” attraction. With the FL version as a standalone park ride, the 1 show scene probably will be the main show with several supporting show scenes, which dark rides typically use to build the story as you move through the attraction. The big difference should be the ride vehicles. Instead of tramcars you can expect some type of motion-based ride vehicles that should take the ride to a completely new level. Just hopping it is not a very fancy looking park support building.

If it is going to be Skull Island based that could be what they're clearing near Jurassic Park....

From what is rumoured, it sounds like one part of the ride could be similar to the tram ride experience, but that would only be one part.

Godders, that is what is being built beside Thunder Falls Terrace. It is a lot more than clearing that is going on. The building is huge!

If it's anything that doesn't involve 3D glasses and projection screens, I'll be happy.

At least the 1 scene, that is expected to be similar to Hollywood, will most likely involve 3D glasses and projection screens. There are rumors that animatronics are being developed as well including a giant Kong.

Hopefully they give him a stronger foundation than the Yeti got. :rolleyes1

Hahaha During our big snow on Monday, I was watching the 2 hour "Modern Marvels" on WDW and was LMBO at their descriptions of the yeti and how great it was. WAS is the operative word, I guess.

Over at Orlando United there are over 200 pages of discussion on this ride, from whats known it is a
different ride than Hollywoods. Its going to be a high tech game changer in ride systems/show.
