I asked this on the Theme Park board but got no responses. Maybe people with children can help out.

Tell me about the Ski Patrol area. My kids have never been to Blizzard Beach. They've been to Typhoon Lagoon but that was several years ago and they mostly spent their time in the little kid area - but both are well too big for that now.

Dd7 will probably spend a lot of time doing the big slides with her sister. But ds9 doesn't do big water slides and really the only things he will do is this area, the wave pool and the lazy river.

Did your kids (older kids) enjoy this? Do you have pictures?

The ski patrol area is awesome! My kids, 7 & 8 loved it. What's nice is that they can just run around and swim without waiting in a bunch of lines. There is a zip lines and some smaller slides, including some with tubes. There are floating icebergs that the kids try to walk across without falling in. There is a tube slide and some areas where they can just swim. We would go off and do slides for a while and them come back to the ski patrol area and let the kids just run off and play/swim. We set up our stuff there at the beginning of the day and used it as our base camp.

My DD loved the Ski Patrol area when we were there in August. She was just one month shy of 7yo at the time. We did all the other slides she was tall enough for once, did one loop on the lazy river, about 10 minutes in the wave pool, and the rest of our day was in the Ski Patrol area. She couldn't get enough of it.

Our family loved Blizzard Beach the best! My kids were 6 and 11. We were there Sept 2010.

Here's a bunch of photos for you. I don't know how to make the photos smaller.

Ski Patrol Training Camp: My DD kept doing the zipline over and over.
