Sketcher’s ‘Croc-like’ shoes and Escalators **WARNING**

Just got off the phone with the Enviromental Health Team who are looking into the incident so the shopping centre have been true to their word about investigating. :thumbsup2

No reply from Skechers as yet.

It certainly sounds as though the Shopping Centre are investigating the situation.

I remember a similar thread some months back where a little girl was wearing Crocs and they became mangled in the escalator (she was lucky like your DD and got away unscathed) It is quite scary!! I'll be being extra careful to keep my feet away from the edges/joins when wearing my Crocs on escalators, or any shoes for that matter.

Im glad that your dd was not injured how scarey for her, nice to hear the shopping centre are doing something about the problem, hope it all turns out ok.

How scary, pleased that your little girl was OK. I will be very interested to hear if you get a reply from Skechers.....

Come to think about it now, I think I remember years ago there was an incident with a pair of Wellington boots and an escalator, must be the non slippyness of the rubber that makes them stick to the rubber edges of the stairs.

Had a reply from Skechers. My e-mail was basically what I posted here and I invited their comments.

I now know that "escalators can be very dangerous and pose risks to small children, particularly if the escalator is not properly designed and maintained." and that there is little, if anything, shoe companies can do about such incidents

:confused3

Wow!! Not much to go on there from them then Jo, makes you wonder in that case if they should start putting Escalator warnings on all rubber type shoes sold for children, as this seems to be happening a lot. Or are they saying its up to the escalator makers to put warnings out.
