The following pictures were taken of DD's Skechers which are very like Crocs in design and material.
She was holding my hand and standing still going down an escalator in a shopping centre when her left foot must have brushed the edge of the escalator.
The left edge of the shoe stuck. We were near the bottom and when she screamed I just yanked her off and the shoe mangled in the bottom teeth. She was unscathed appart from a black scuff mark on her big toe which means that her foot must have twisted in the shoe around 90 degrees before I pulled her foot out.
I must admit that once I saw there was no blood and that she was in no pain beyond fright I was just thankful
Just wanted to post this as a warning to others. The centre staff was very concerned and helpful and when we went through a reconstruction we all seemed happy that there was no fault with the escalator (though engineers and insurance people were coming to check the next day!). It just seems that the material used in the shoe made it stick to the side by friction alone.
They are going to send pictures to other shopping centres as a warning so let us know if you see a poster of Molly's shoe - we let them keep it
Keep your toes safe xx
Please excuse the quality of the pics as it was only a camera phone but I think they give the idea.
