I know they aren't permitted in the parks, but am not sure about the Boardwalk area. They can't be any worse than the out of control surrey bikes, though. I hate dodging those, LOL.
Doubt it, but can't be any more annoying than those sneakers with the roller wheels in them that have kids skidding through Dept. stores, restaurants, etc.
During my last stay this past May, there was a teenager that was skateboarding up and down the BW. It was VERY early in the am and no one else was around- I actually enjoyed watching him...he was doing all kinds of tricks and was really good- If a jogger came by he immediately hopped off and held his board until the jogger was past-
Not sure if its allowed or not but the kid definately was respectful to the few that past him and quite entertaining!
I'm pretty sure it's 15 points. That's what is listed on the scorecard posted on the surrey bike.
Skateboards and rollerblades are not allowed on FL roadways and in parking areas. This is noted in the info provided at check-in. I'm not sure if that applies to the BW itself though (as it is neither a roadway or parking lot). The front desk should be able to advise locations where it is allowed.
Whether they're "allowed" or not, if you really were menaced by someone you should be able to go into the nearest store and ask a CM to call security. Causing a dangerous nuisance is not allowed, even if skateboarding politely is.
You've got to be kidding. I lost the 3rd Annual Mousefest Boardwalk Surrey Bike Death Race Gumball Rally sponored by Red Bull by only 5 points. The Broken Femur Cup should have been mine!

So, you had to settle for the Double Shin-Splint Trophy instead ? I'd ask for a recount. I'll bet you can already picture the prestigious Broken Femur sitting on the mantle!
Hey, wait a minute. Now that I think about it Doc, weren't you the co-driver on the winning team - Blood On The Sprocket? That's it, I'm filing a protest.
I just checked my last "Boardwalk Bugle" (that little flyer you get at check-in). The only thing it refers to are in-line skating and scooters-"Florida law does not permit in-line skating on roadways, pool decks or parking lots.." But I didn't see anything specifically on skateboards.
