Is there any Sizzler's near Disney and if so are they any good. I've never been to a Sizzler but I love steak so I figure it must be good. Please respond if you've been to Sizzler with your opinions of it.

No offense intended....but with all the great places to eat in WDW why would anyone want to go to a Sizzler, or any of the chain restaurants?

no offense taken but i am not eating everyday at disneyworld, we are also spending 2 days at universal and also going to seaworld, we have alot of meals planned at Disney but not all. I'm from Canada, never been to Sizzler and just wanted to know what it was like....

I was at a Sizzler once before and personally, I think if you're looking for a good steak Sizzler is not the place for it. Just based on my personal opinion. Others may feel differently, but I didn't find it to be a nice steakhouse.

But is has been a long time, not the best quality of steak out there, BUT it is not the most exspensive either, my kids always liked it and I liked it enough for price/quality to go back but it would not be my first choice while on vacation.

Umm..Sizzler? If you are looking for chain-restaurant steak houses, perhaps you might find the Outback or Longhorn (if they have these in Orlando) to be a better quality at a reasonable price. These aren't Disney restaurants...but they are a step above a Sizzler, which IMO are at the very bottom of the steak house food chain!

They are about three steps above Sizzler at least.

Go to Sizzler's website. It will tell you where the 4 locations in the area are. Its funny as a kid we always went to Sizzler. I liked the Texas Toast they used to give. But Sizzler is no longer anywhere in the Ft Lauderdale area (there used to be 5 that I could remember, over 15 years ago). Things that make you go Hmmmm.

Outback and Longhorn are not buffets, but they top Sizzler for sure. Sizzer steaks are about the equivalent of a Dennys or IHOP steak IMO. Edible, but not fine dining. :stir:

There are several Sizzlers on the road just outside of Disney (194? I think).

Last Feb. we went to the one that is on the end of the strip towards the Animal Kingdom and it was actually very good.

They had a special - 6oz steak (and the buffet) for $9.99 and let me say that it was a very good steak - cut with a butter knife good. And they actually had cooked vegetables on the buffet including broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, corn and a couple of others (I always find US buffets are deficient when it comes to veggies or they are very overcooked which was not the case here).

There are also coupon books just about everywhere and I think they give you 15% off.

Just one thing to add - don't go to the Golden Corral - we went and it was awful! Also, try to go to the locations that are away from the main hustle and bustle - we found that the more crowded it was, the lower the quality was.

Hi! I'm from Canada too! Nova Scotia.

In January we stayed at SSR and took a taxi to a local Sizzler, twice. We went to the one at 12195 S. Apopka Vineland, it was between a 5 and 10 minute ride. The taxi driver recommended the Golden Corral (a similar style buffet restaurant), which we didn't try.

My dad accompanied us on our trip and he is an old school meat and potatoes guy. The only spice he likes is pepper. No garlic, cheese, etc. For him it's hard to find plain food without lots of additives and Sizzlers works well for that.

He ordered a steak and said it was the best steak he had on his trip, and he probably had steak 4 times or so.

My sister and I had St. Louis Ribs - 1/2 slab and they were the best ribs of our trip. Of course we only had ribs 2 or 3 times, once at Boatwrights.

The children really enjoyed the dessert soft serve station. Who am I kidding, I liked it too!

The first trip was great, we got there and were about the only people there, the foods seemed to be freshly out and not messed up much. The second time there was a large loud family there and the place just seemed messier (sp?). Some of the salad offerings looked as though they were left over from lunch and a few of the fruits looks slimey.

When we were there the salad bar had: salad fixings, fruit (apples, bananas, fruit cocktail, canned peachs and pears), pudding, rice, chicken curry, seafood gumbo, mashed potatoes, deep fried chicken wings, oven roasted chicken pieces, beef in gray, gravy, soft tortilla, refried beans, taco meat, sour cream, green beans, corn, and lots more.

adult salad bar $8.99

child salad bar $3.99

With the purchase of the salad bar:
1/2 slab rib $5.00 includes fries or baked potato
petite sirloin $1.00 includes fries or baked potato

As my dad isn't going with us on our upcoming trip we will probably not go, as the taxi was $50 / round trip. But for the food value etc, its pretty good and tasty. Go and have a good time.

There is a Sizzler located on U.S. 192 going West. We ate over a year ago and it was okay.
