When my son and I were at Universal in Dec 05, I wanted to ride the Hulk but you know how they have that sample seat outside the ride? Well I sat in it and let's just say things were spilling over the sides....so I didn't go on the ride.

Now I read in another thread that the Hulk has some seats that are larger than the rest of them? Is this true? And what do you ask for when you are in line?

And is this also true for Dueling Dragons?

This was really disappointing, as I have never had a problem with any rides at Disney.

Thanks for any help

Yes, they do have the larger seats on Hulk and also on DD. If I am remembering right, there are at least 2 on each train, and the rows are marked, so you would just need to get in line for one of those rows. The larger seats are one of the middle seats, instead of having one buckle, they have two. Someone else will probably come along who has the whole scoop on it later...

Yes...all trains on Dueling Dragons and Hulk have "big boy" seats located in the third and sixth rows of each train. They have two buckles instead of one. On Dueling Dragons, you can sit in whichever row you wish and sometimes it's the same thing on the Hulk...depending on the crowd level. More often than not, the attendants at Hulk put you in a row. Just tell them you'd like to ride in either row three or six...no big deal.

Remember...the coasters at IOA are completely different than the ones at Disney with the possible exception of RnR coaster...that's the only one that's similar to the IOA coasters. B & M designed the coasters for more people of size to enjoy the rides and I think it's great! :thumbsup2

The Big Boy seats basically give more chest room. If your girth is in the lower regions, I don't think the seats are any bigger.

Bingo, couldnt have said it better myself. On Hulk it is in the third row. On Dragons: Ice its on the third row only. On Fire its on the third and sixth row.
I am 6' 270lbs, I have a larger chest and midsection (I have man ****s and a beergut) and I can squeeze into the regular seats. The larger seats have two straps and are larger around the chest area, and a tad in the seat....though not much. They will try and squeeze you in the best they can.
And as was said, the disney rides are different. They are meant to tickle your tummy, not tickle your intestines as HULK does :scared1:

That's what I was thinking initially - that it is more chest room, not seat room. Unfortunately what I need is the seat room. The seats on the Hulk Ride are plastic molded seats that come up just enough on the sides that it is impossible to squeeze a larger bottom section into them.

Well, we aren't going until December, so I have 10 months to get out walking. This will be my motivation! Thanks for all the replies.

When I was 325lbs (5'9'") I could squeeze into both the Hulk and DD larger seats. There were a few coasters at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jersey that didn't have any "big boy" seats and that was depressing. It's good that IOA takes care of all their customers that way!

Just to clarify, Hulk, Ice Dragon and the Fire Dragon's modified seats are on rows 3 and 6. All three of them have rows 3 and 6 modified.

This is great to know. We're going over Easter break and will be riding (trying to ride) everything there. I'm 6'5" 300lbs (44" waist) and had no problem with anything at Disney. Are there other rides that I need to be concerned about???

The only other ride I can think of is Revenge of the Mummy...you'll probably have to ride in the last row. They don't have shoulder restraints just lap bars but unless the attendants can pull it past a certain point, they won't let you ride. Plus, the back row has more leg room than the other rows.

ICE does not have them on row six. I was there on Saturday and had to ask some folks on row 3 to change with us because there were no larger seats on 6. Which doesnt make sense, I know, but it doesnt....

Actually, no they DO have the modifed seats on row six. I promise. Both Dragons and Hulk were made by the same company, and all of their coasters have a modified seat on rows 3 and 6. It's standard for them. If I can somehow prove it, then I would. But I do remember having guests wait for that row because of the modified seat, and I remember guests asking why they have a double seatbelt and they were in row 6.
