Size of pictures for t-shirt designs?

Getting ready to print out everything for our t-shirts. Just wondering, how big do you make the pictures? For adults? For children?

I do the full page design for adults, and depending on the kids size, I either use 4x6 or 5x8..that is in the advance print area when printing...I use the 4x6 mostly for kids under 3 years..good luck...
