Six months of waiting ... the Easter Sunday Review of the Chef’s Table at V&A's

Easter Sunday, we arrived and parked at the Grand early to walk around and see the Easter Egg and all the fun stuff as a decoy reason for getting there early.

Well....I guess I sould chime in, since I am the keeper of the photos....

Yes, we had a splendid afternoon and noted that Disney updated the Easter Egg with a fresh coat of paint "FINALLY".....it was looking somewhat shabby last year and not in the "shabby chic" sort of way....

While we were waiting, we slipped into the Jacuzzi and relaxed. Just as the bubbling stopped and we got back to the lounge, the women challenged with making us look beautiful came to the door. From the looks on their faces, we knew they knew they were challenged. Mister Disney told his “surgeon” he’d be with her in a minute. He went back to his locker and got his camera … you know … so we could share with everyone here on the DIS Board. I suppose it’s only fitting that we’re posting this close to Halloween.

You decide if this is a trick or a treat! LOL

So the K-Man takes us to the spa before dinner....always a wonderful treat....we were getting gentlemen's facials...

and yes for all our DISer friends out there, we HAD to record the moment for everyone!

Here is Mister Disney in the midst of his relaxing facial...the only thing missing was the cucumbers for the eyes....

The K-Man on the other hand....well.....his facial looked a little less frightening than mine!

So.....now that we're all relaxed and ready for dinner....I'll pick up where the K-Man left off.

We arrived and Christopher warmly greeted us and brought us into the kitchen where Chef Aimee came out from around the work stations to give us a welcoming hug.

On the table are the most gorgeous long stem roses I've ever seen, yet another gift from Kevin....

They were quite relaxing.....and a pleasure.....although I must say....someday....we might have to do the manicure and pedicure.....sans the shiney polish!

I highly recommend pedicures! I get one every month in spring and summer and one as a Christmas gift to myself. Hey, I have to be sandal ready. Very relaxing - warm whirlpool water along with a massage chair. It's worth it, promise!

I was in awe of the flowers, only be to floored by yet another small package attached to the flowers....

a small black bag holding another set of cuff links....

Finally we begin to relax and settle in for a 4 hour culinary adventure. We begin to look around to see what has changed since our last Easter Sunday Dinner at the Chef's Table....

on the side board was a BEAUTIFUL Chocolate Easter Egg.....a 3 dimensional egg....with a vignette from Ratatouille...

This Egg was produced for a Disney Castmember program. Disney holds a "conference" for their Castmembers where different hotels, restaurants, divisions etc have tables showing what they do.....

This Egg was produced for that program and only seen my Cast members and by guests who dined at the Chef's Table.


It was utterly AMAZING!

Hooray! The review has begun!

And Mr. Disney ... my hubby always enjoys the sports pedicure I book for him before we go on vacation. I like my man to have neat, clean feet that don't scare small children at the swimming pool.

They're very relaxing!

So.....now that we're all relaxed and ready for dinner....I'll pick up where the K-Man left off.

Speaking of "left off" I left off the fact that part of our delay in posting THIS review is the forced visit to "the clinic".

I also "left out" the fact that we (deliberately) left our little travel "friend" behind in the hotel room for this meal. You know, there just something "not so romantic" about having a little one tagging along when you're trying to set the stage, the mood, the atmosphere for a night of celebration, of romance and of sinful indulgence.

Back in the room was our little travel companion safely tucked in his pouch in the green knapsack on the bed. At his ripe old age, there was no need to hire a Fairy Godmother to babysit. Confident that leaving the Disney Channel on would keep him adequately occupied we just knew the night alone was going to be Magical.

So exploring around the Chef's Table dining room, we come across the cast iron skillets that the braised shortribs used to be served in.....(in other words, the K-Man was opening the drawings of the buffett, looking inside!)

AGAST we thought to ourselves "please tell us they didn't take them off the menu!"

I swatted the K-Man when I thought he was trying to pocket some of the little skillets.....
