I have many articles regarding the gang activity at six flags. I am planning on visiting there in August and wanted to know if they are still having issues there if the problems have been resolved. I definately don't want to go somewhere where its not safe. Thanks

They had some gang problems 10-15 years ago but I have not heard of anything in a long time. Always a great time every time we've been.

I've been there a couple times over the last couple years and have not had any issues with gang activity.

We were there in April and it was great. Lots of coasters. The kids loved it. They want to go back there instead of Disneyland!

Opinion on if it's worth to visit Six Flags. We are going back for our daughter's graduation trip. We have done lots of DL, Seaworld, Knotts, The Zoo, and Universal. Is it worth the trip to visit Six Flags since we have not done it before. My husband and son love coaster, daughter and I not so much.

We also plan on visiting some tourist sights like Rodeo Drive, beaches etc.

Thanks for your input!

I'll tag along/bump as well! I've been to DL too many times to count, but DH is more of a coaster person and we were underwhelmed with Knott's. I'm just worried about Magic Mountain being VERY busy, and I don't want to dish out the extra $100 or so they want for their equivalent of FastPass! Anyone have anything to say, one way or another? Fun or hassle?

Magic Mountain can get very busy in peak season just like DLR, Knotts or USH. Never really know though as I've gone on summer weekends when its been very slow at MM.

MM is a HUGE park, much larger than DL. As the name implies, it is NOT flat so lots of walking up and down hills. There are routes to take to avoid those hills or a tram that takes you up or down one such hill.

MM isn't as bad as it use to be. It's more along the line of local kids and not necessarily gangs. More like local hoodlums. Also the bad influence seems to come out in the late afternoon. The problem is MM's season pass is cheap and parents just drop their kids off there. Again the problem isn't as bad as it use to be. Another thing to remember, it's not Disney. That means the employees aren't as polished as cast members. You'll definitely notice. One more thing to consider, the heat factor. In August, the temp in Valencia will be HOT!
