six flags goes international. will they pass universal in the future.

I stopped reading right here- in what way is Universal doing a better job than Disney???? You tout this as if it is some kind of fact. :confused3

I'm sorry I didn't want to get into a fight with the Uni fans over Disney vs Uni. I know worldwide Disney is doing better than Universal. It's in Orlando that universal is doing better. They are growing faster there in percentage terms and that is a fact. I think Disney is doing so much better worldwide but I wanted this to deal with just universal and six flags. I did what I could to keep it at that.

Added. Disney is going to stay number 1 because they are doing the things they need to. Shanghai Disney will be the number 1 theme park in the world. WDW will stay the number 1 tourist attraction. Paris may not be doing great but it will come back when Europe does.

Ha!! Oh don't mind me...I just get a little too excited sometimes!!!! No anger no malice ------ I could see if I was on here every single day arguing with folks about FastPass+ that you might draw that conclusion but I'm not-----it's all in good fun as far as I am concerned!! Now- I completely disagree.....Universal is not doing "better" than Disney. I see a fad....a boost in attendance from Harry Potter-----that has yet to reach the lowest attended Disney park!! It's not going to be hard for Six Flags to breeze right past Universal with wise investment in China.....instead of fighting for the scraps left over from Disney World and Disneyland. Also- if you wanted your thread to remain on topic you don't have to say things like "Universal is doing better than Disney." It's your opinion and I respect that but I do not agree and it is not a fact!! Oh----- one more thing next if you want your thread to stay on the main Theme parks board you have to say that you hate FastPass+ in the title and I promise you it'll stay there forever!!!!!! Better luck next time!!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure how to describe it but it's near where the picnic area is. There used to be a roller coaster I think it was batman and robin. There were a few other things also like the bumper cars. Also a long time ago lighting loops which my brother was stuck on upside down once. He loved it. There was also the famous hunted house which caused a huge lawsuit.

I know where you are talking about. They pretty much use that for private events and they have the characters change into outfits there now.

Of course there are people that drive thousands of miles or fly in from Europe to do Six Flags parks.A vast majority of them are coaster nerds like me.I've driven from my house in Miami doing road trips and hitting up parks like Six Flags over Georgia,Cedar Point,Kings Island,Busch Gardens Williamsburg.Of course people do it but it's a smaller percentage of visitors from further than 250-300 miles.Even Cedar Point which gets many more visitors from further away since it is the best coaster park in the planet,is not bringing in people from all over like the Orlando or So Cal parks.I remember exiting my car at Cedar Point and seeing a group of people just marveling at the Florida license plates. In Orlando it wouldn't be that big a deal to see an Ohio one,in fact you might see 30 of them in one day just driving here and there.

All true, which is why I qualified my statement. Six Flags isn't a "destination" of Disney's level. OTOH, they aren't entirely reliant on people who wake in their own beds the day(s) of their visit, either :)

One thing Six Flags has going for it is the cost of a season pass is less than 1 day at MK. If they can find a way to make real money off multi -day visitors, it would be a huge bump in their business.
