Does it bother anyone else that it is "Sitters Unlimited, Inc." "Limited" in a company's name means limited liability. "Inc." in a company's name also means limited liability. So what does "Unlimited, Inc." mean?

Never heard of the company, but perhaps it means they can provide an unlimited amount of sitters? Or that their sitters can provide an unlimited amount of services? Or that they had a really bad naming committee?

I thought the L in LLC would indicate the limited liability.

As for a business/corporation name....I don't think that has anything to do with their level of liability but rather is indicative of the services they offer.

The Limited clothing store (never understood that as a good name for a clothing store)

A business that is incorporated does have limited liability - limited only to the assets of the company.

There are other types of limited liability entities, including LLC's which provide other types of limited liability.

The suffix Inc, or LLC or PA/PC explain the type of entity and by reference the type of liability it holds. Check the Secretary of State's Office in your state for more information.

Unlimited is not an official entity type, and really is just part of the name of the company.

I think in other countries, Ltd is used to denote a similar limited liability entity type.
