Hey everyone! I have what should be a basic question. I'm going down to Disney in August for a VERY short trip and want to plan a site visit.
How often/when do they have site visits? I've heard/read they only do them Mon-Thursday until a certain time, but we check in on a Thursday (not sure what time) and check out early Monday morning. Hopefully this will work out.
THANKS!!

Hi. We had our site visit on a Thursday morning at 9 AM. When I made the appointment I don't remember them telling me they can only do it certain days. Planing sessions can be done monday through friday so I would assume that you could have a site visit on a friday too.

Talk to your consultant and see what they have to say, I am sure that they can work something out with you

I had my site visit on a Tuesday at 11 a.m. I was told that they can do a site visit Monday-Thursday at 9 am, 11 am, and 1 pm. I'm sure if you let them know your situation they can try to get you in on a time that works for you. Good Luck!

Thanks! I have to wait until July to schedule the site visit so I'll see what they can do.

Just call and ask. I had my site visit at 3pm on Friday and it was no big deal. They can usually work with you. I would call soon to get on one of the sales managers calendar. Good luck!

My site visit is 3pm on Friday, August 31st. I just set this up with my coordinator, Kristi Davis, about a month and a half ago. I can't believe it's only 3 months away!!! YAY!

I'd just give your coordinator a call and set this up before you make any travel plans. Good luck!

Now that's interesting... I was on the phone with someone this afternoon and he said I couldn't set one up until July for August 24th... I'll have to look into that. Thanks for letting me know!!

:scratchin At least calling them back tomorrow will give me a great excuse to listen to Disney music at work!!

Hi Briarprincess-

I scheduled our site visit right after we signed our contract at the end of April. We might have been able to schedule it early only because we were given permission to sign our contract early. It may or may not be something Disney can do. I hope I didn't mislead you!!!!! :headache:

That's the downside to having a Disney Wedding, there are a lot of inconsistencies that vary from bride to bride. It really all depends on who you talk to and what the circumstances are.

I'm not counting on being able to schedule it before July. It'd be nice, but July is only a few weeks away. And this trip was scheduled before we were considering a site visit- my parents and fiance are excited because we have tickets to the pirate: and princess: Party! I am too!!

But do any of you know how long before the actual wedding you can do a tasting and such? Our date is August 18th, and we'd be in Disney August 23rd. Would they let us do one that soon since we probably won't be able to make it back before? Would I even be able to sign the contract while we're there?
So many questions! Thank you all so much!!

Can you tell I'm excited?!:dance3: But still going nuts? :faint:

I'm excited for you too!
I have no idea about doing tastings yet. When I went for my site visit I didn't even ask questions about it, now I'm wishing I had.
I would call and ask in the morning just to be on the safe side, you never know.

I think that would be a great question for your coordinator. They might be able to set something up for a menu tasting. However, I'm sure they'll tell you that things such as menu availability and prices are subject to change. Thats usually why they dont want brides to have a planning session too far in advance of their wedding date just b/c things change CONSTANTLY at Disney.

Good luck! :)

Oh and the pirate and princess party is great! The fireworks are AWESOME! I actually think they might be my favorite :) You'll have a great time!

You can do food tasting, planning session, at the earliest, 6 months before the wedding, but they can not confirm the food tasting until 2 weeks before,be sure to mention the food tasting to your planner.

we are flying over in sep this year to do our planning sessions, when we spoke with heidi she said that they can arrange it for us as we wont have the chance to come back over before the wedding in sept 08.

I would just ask them, it does not hurt to ask and if you dont ask you dont get!

How did you get to sign it early??

I don't want to change the topic of the board at all, but felt like I should attempt to briefly explain this. Yes, our wedding is not until January 3, 2009, but we signed our contract back in the end of April. We never asked for this. Originally, our coordinator was just asking the Contemporary and the WP to let us book 1 year in advance instead of 8 months, however she was able to get permission for us to book now. This came as a huge (and welcomed) surprise!

I think the main two reasons are because our date falls within "Holiday Week" when conventions cannot be booked and we are having a Couture Collection Wedding by David Tutera, which can only be held at the Contemporary (so that needed to be reserved early.) Also, we are having a Couture Ceremony, and since there are only 3 times a day custom brides can get married in the WP- 2:30pm, 5pm, and 7:30pm, they had to block off 5pm and 7:30pm for my ceremony in order to make sure they would have enough time to put up all the decor. Perhaps another is because our wedding is costing us a pretty penny... Another reason might have been that I drove my coordinator to the point of insanity asking 50 billion questions about the Couture Collection, decor, prices, food, what we could change, etc. Plus, I'm pretty sure there was a little Disney magic thrown in there. :wizard: Needless to say, we are grateful! PM me if anyone has any more questions on this!!

On a more "on topic" post, were you able to get in touch with your coordinator to set up the tasting and/or site visit, Briarprincess?

I haven't been able to call yet. I've been sick the past couple of days. Hopefully tomorrow I can find some time to call and ask, but if not, I have off on Friday.
I'm hoping that we may be able to schedule a menu tasting for this August. I'll be student teaching all fall and then my fiance is working on his thesis in the spring. If we can't, do it in August, I'll have to start looking into booking a short trip by myself over spring break which unfourtunatly falls Easter weekend.:sad2:
I'll fill everyone in as things happen. I'm going to start a planning journal this weekend probably.
Thanks again!!
