Sorry if this has been addressed....

My DB and DSIL are joining our trip in December and are planning on bringing their sit/stand stroller.

My nephew will be 4 1/2 and my niece will be almost 2.

In those types of strollers, does the child who is not in the stroller seat have the ability to rest/recline/sleep? Is there an ample enough basket for all day (theoretically) at the parks with purchases also? I'm just wondering if this stroller is the wisest one to take. My brother doesn't think that folding it for the busses will be an issue -- he said it folds up nicely.

This will be their first trip (my DB and DSIL's first since the 80's -- they've never seen AK or MGM). My parents will also be going so I don't think there would be too much of an issue of "pushers" be available....

What do you think? Single sit/stand? or two umbrella-types?

I don't see why it what the problem is. We've have a swap going on using the sit n stand type stroller (shameless plug- check out the siggy)
The back seat has a seat and a platform for standing on, so yes, they can rest, obvously there is no recline, but why would it need to? I know my 4-year olds were past the point of stroller napping. It has a basket for storage, as well as ample handles for hanging bags, or you can have theme park purchases held at the front of the park, or shipped back to your resort if you are staying onsite.
I prefer a double over two singles, especially when doing rider swaps, mom doesn't have to worry about pushing two strollers around.
I don't see the fuss that people have with strollers on the bus or tram. They don't get their own seat, they sit at your feet or between your legs.

We have taken our Sit N Stand twice to WDW now and it worked well for us. My youngest just turned 2 and my oldest is 7 (but has special needs). He walks most of the time but when we are going across the entire park it was easier on him to sit or stand on the back. My youngest sat in the front. The only problem was when we needed to recline the front, it was hard for my oldest son to sit on the bench, so we usually just stopped and let my youngest sleep and let my oldest do some things in the area. I have a hard time pushing it myself with both kids on it, so I make DH do it. And in each area we would just park it and the boys would walk around to the attractions. We had the basket underneath packed full. I had changes of clothes, diapers, a soft lunchbox cooler, snacks and a few other things under there. We also drive our car so the buses weren't an issue for us. I did carry a bag that folds into a little carrying case with us in case we needed to fold the stroller so I could dump everything from underneath in it.

I think the basket is ok...probably not any smaller than 2 umbrella strollers combined. If you take some rings or clips you can clip bags onto the handle. They are tiring to push but if they use the stroller a lot they must be ok with it. My biggest thing is the child in the back. My 4 1/2 year old still will sleep in the stroller if he's tired. Early mornings and late nights often mean that he does fall asleep in the stroller and this you can't do with the sit-n-stand. If you are not planning to be in the park after bed time it's probably ok (and he doesn't nap). We are opting for 2 singles on our trip with our 2 year old and 4 1/2 year old. If my husband is taking the older one to ride he will just park the stroller by the ride which is nice because then I only have a small stroller to go shopping with or go use the bathroom.

We just took our sit and stand stroller on WDW in June. Our children are 7 and 5 (then 4). The front seat reclines somewhat but it is NOT good for sleeping. The back seat is a bench seat that faces the driver of the stroller. It folds up nicely and I was able to get it on and off the bus by myself, DH was at a conference most days.

I personally think that if they have the sit and stand, that is what they should bring. If the adults are doing one activity and 1 adult has both kids, they can easily get from point a to point b.

I have never been a fan of umbrella strollers. That may be because I never had a really good one.

My other thought is that if your brother, the parent of the kids thinks that the stroller is okay, then he is probably correct. (After all, won't the parents be the ones pushing it?);)

I agree that if my brother thinks the stroller is okay, than who am I to argue?

I just want to make sure he is aware of all the pros and cons of taking that specific stroller rather than two smaller strollers. I don't think they've ever gone anywhere where they would need to use the stroller all day every day! I am trying to make his trip as fun and happy as possible so he goes back to Disney more often with the kids! (I am trying to convert him! I'd say brainwash, but he is too old for that!)

I'll be sure to tell him about the reclining (or lack thereof) features. AND I guess the child in the back won't be as protected from the sun, right?

I think two umbrellas might be better, but ultimately it isn't my decision.

The really hard part is not knowing how any of the little ones (mine included) are going to be when it comes to touring. Will they be perfectly content to stay in the strollers and nap there or will they absolutely melt down and need to go back to the resort? Who knows! This will be quite an experiment!

We took our sit and stand. ON ours, the child in the back can sit if the front is reclined (some brands they can not sit at all). The back seat is just a bench, no reclining there. the basket is pretty big, long but not high. I have the clips on the handles to hang stuff. If you are staying on property, I think you can have your souveners (I know that is incorrect) but I am too tired to think! lol) shipped to your resort. Otherwise I think you can pick them up in a certain spot on the way out. Ours does fold up easily also. Have a good time!

We've taken our Sit N Stand stroller during our last 3 trips to WDW in the past year. My kids were DS2 and DD5 for the the first trip (similar ages to your DNephew and DNiece) and I can't think of a better stroller for our travels. Having the one stroller allows one parent to be in one place with the kids while the other is riding a ride. It has been very manageable for me to take the kids by myself to the parks when DH is working in the morning.

My DS will occasionally fall asleep in the front seat which reclines a bit, but my DD has never expressed to nap while in the parks (she doesn't nap at home either). The biggest problem we've experienced with the stroller is the kids fighting over who sits on the little jump seat in the back-it's supposed to be for the big sister, but her little brother thinks he should get to use everything she gets to, ugh! At times both kids will squeeze their little tushies on the back seat together  The seat/platform is great for the older child who likes to get out and walk for a while but just isn't ready to be walking all day long with the adults.

As far as having enough room for things in the basket, we've crammed more stuff in there than we probably should. When we're at WDW I usually have gallon ziplock baggies of clothes for each of the kids, a little soft-sided cooler with snacks, a nondescript bag containing diapers and wipes, and (if chilly) a sweatshirt for both kids and myself. Yes, we max out all available space in the basket, but it all is there if we need it. We don;t do much shopping, so we don't add too much extra junk to the pile, but if you did, I would have it sent to the hotel directly so you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Anyway, FWIW we would NEVER consider having two strollers. Too much to deal with if you ask me. The SNS doesn't fold up to the tiniest thing ever but it's more compact than my clunky travel system ever was.
